Stepping back from the many disparate elements of the game, the picture that emerges is impressive. Assassin’s Creed II is a complex, mature, and engaging journey from beginning to end. It stands as a benchmark for design that combines innovative ideas with tried-and-true techniques to create one of the great games of this generation.

The experience is layered, unique, and shows an incredible attention to detail. This is one case where the sequel has triumphed over the original by catching the gameplay up to the already excellent visuals. No matter what your preconceptions are about Assassin's Creed II, the game is well worth your time and money.

Assassin's Creed II is what you'd want an action sequel to be: bigger, better, and more beautiful.

This is definitely still my favorite of the series. I still can't get over how amazing the ending of the game was.

I always enjoyed customizing the villa in part 2. I really wish that the sequels kept it and allowed you to expand upon it or something. Overall the game was an excellent addition and I feel like the games only got better from here. Revelations has to be my absolute favorite, though.

What made Assassin's Creed II so good is its improvements over the first game. Now that there are four more games out, it doesn't quite stand up as well. But it was excellent when it first came out and it's what got me hooked on the series in general. I think Brotherhood and Revelations are unfairly ignored because of how similar they are to one another and to ACII. I wasn't really sure about ACIII when I first heard about it, but I absolutely love it too. There were some hit and miss moments in the Ezio trilogy, but the character himself is one of my favorite video game characters of all time. I love his part of the PlayStation commercial with all the characters gathered: "When the Templars murdered my family...." So cool.

I definitely loved AC2. It's the game that really got me into the series. I picked it up, played and finished it before ever playing the first AC.. and honestly, I probably wouldn't have given AC2 much of a chance if I had played AC first. AC was really that good, to me at least. It was something of a cross between GTA and Spiderman, I was hooked by the gameplay and the story plot.
