Fable III is the third installment in the Fable franchise. Released on October 26, 2010, Fable III throws the player into the role of a hero that must rise from nothing to become the King or Queen of Albion. Set 50 years after Fable II, Fable III finds Albion in an industrial revolution. You make choices that effect the future of the country. You’ll make promises and deals that you’ll have the chance to either fulfill or break when you ascend the throne.

The game includes 50 achievements worth 1000 gamer points, three of which are missable: Coronation Chicken, You Can’t Bring Me Down, and Tough Love. You will also need a friend that owns the game to get the achievements Long Distance Relationship, Cross-Dimensional Conception, and Online Merger. Overall the achievements are not that too difficult, assuming you have a friend with the game. All of the achievements can be done in a single playthrough.

You can find the achievement guide for Fable III's DLC "Traitor's Keep" here.

Playthrough Guide
During the playthrough you’ll unlock seven story achievements: The Guild Seal, And So It Begins, Swift Justice, The Resistance, Distant Friends, The Ruler of Albion, For Albion, and Hand in Hand. You may stumble across some of the side quests needed for achievements, and even if you don’t it’s not too much of a problem as just about every achievement can be completed at any time in the game. The only achievements that you need to worry about are the truly missable achievements: Coronation Chicken, You Can’t Bring Me Down, and Tough Love. Scroll down and read those guides before starting to ensure that you don’t miss anything. Overall the achievements are not that hard, but they will take some time.

Complete the scenes (you can choose either the good or evil route, it doesn’t matter) to complete the quest and receive 20 Guild Seals as a reward. Complete “Missing Play” and the achievement is yours.

the dark sanctum.jpg The Dark Sanctum (10G)
Reinstate an ancient, evil temple.
You will need to complete four quests during the Bowerstone Resistance chapter: “Peace, Love, and Homicide,” “Excavation,” “Awakening,” and “Leverage.”

“Peace, Love, and Homicide”
  • The quest can be found in the Dark Sanctum (located in Mourningwood). Once you’ve accepted the quest Lesley will tell you that he needs you to kill a man named Rhys. Go to Mourningwood and kill him to complete the quest and receive 15 Guild Seals as a reward.

You will need to complete four quests for this: “Restoration,” “Pest Control,” “An Island Getaway,” and “Giftwood for Driftwood.”

  • The quest can be found in the Bowerstone Market on the second floor. Once you’ve accepted the quest Rusty will ask you to take him to Driftwood. Escort Rusty across Albion to the new Driftwood islands to complete the quest and receive 5 Guild Seals as a reward.
“Giftwood for Driftwood”
  • The quest can be found in Driftwood. Once you’ve accepted the quest you will need to take a letter to the best carpenter in Albion, located in Silverpines. You can either walk or fast travel there, and once you’ve handed over the letter the quest is complete and you will receive 10 Guild Seals as a reward.

Complete all four quests and leave the island to open Driftwood Island. It can take 10 minutes or more for Driftwood to open, but once it does the achievement is yours.

knight jumps chesty.jpg Knight Jumps Chesty (10G)
Defeat Chesty at his own game.
You will need to complete the quest “Chesty’s Chest.” The quest can be found in Sunset House. You can accept the quest after the Mourningwood Fort Battle. Follow the trail and you’ll reach some gates, through which is the area Sunset House. Make sure it’s night time (if it’s not, just exit and reenter the area). Go to the gazebo and inspect each of the statues four times. What you’re doing is moving the statues into the positions they stand in during the day. You’ll know you’ve done it right when the house changes from a ghostly outline to a real house. If you have trouble, enter the area during the day and check out the statues so that you have an idea of their correct positions.

Once you’ve gotten the house to actually appear, go inside and sleep in the bed. During the night you’ll be transported to a massive chest board. Speak to Chesty to start the game. Don’t worry about chess strategy, Chesty will cheat anyway. After a bit of time Chesty will start throwing bombs at your pieces. Defeat the waves of enemies until the quest is completed. Once you’ve completed “Chesty’s Chest” the achievement is yours.

coronation chicken.jpg Coronation Chicken (10G)

You will need to unlock Spellweaving on the Road to Rule. Once you’ve unlocked Spellweaving, head into your Sanctuary and combine two different spells. Exit the Sanctuary and press B to cast the spell and the achievement is yours.

archmage.jpg Archmage (20G)
Cast all 15 possible spell combinations.
You will need to unlock Spellweaving on the Road to Rule. Once you’ve unlocked Spellweaving, head into your Sanctuary and combine two different spells. You will need to cast each spell combination, so every time that you combine a spell, make sure to exit the Sanctuary and cast the woven spell before changing it out. Here are the fifteen possible combinations:
  • Fireball - - Vortex
  • Fireball - - Ice
  • Fireball - - Force Push
  • Fireball - - Blades
  • Fireball - - Shock
  • Vortex - - Ice
  • Vortex - - Force Push
  • Vortex - - Blades
  • Vortex - - Shock
  • Ice - - Force Push
  • Ice - - Blades
  • Ice - - Shock
  • Force Push - - Blades
  • Force Push - - Shock
  • Blades - - Shock

Once you’ve cast all fifteen woven spells the achievement is yours.

total warrior.jpg Total Warrior (10G)
Kill enemies with melee, ranged and spell attacks.
You only need to kill one enemy with melee, one with ranged, and one with a spell. Most likely you will get this by playing through the game naturally, but if not just take a moment and kill three enemies, one with each type of attack. Once you’ve killed an enemy with melee, ranged, and spell attacks the achievement is yours.

pull.jpg Pull! (10G)
Send an enemy flying into the air and kill him while he's airborne.
You may get this naturally while playing the game, but if not there is an easy way to get it: cast the Vortex spell to surround an enemy to lift it off the ground. While it’s in the air, use your guns to shoot it until it dies. Once you’ve killed an airborne enemy the achievement is yours.

gunning for glory.jpg Gunning For Glory (20G)
Kill 500 enemies using firearms.
See Wizard’s Revenge for more information on this achievement. Kill 500 enemies using firearms and the achievement is yours.

if it bleeds, we can kill it.jpg If It Bleeds, We Can Kill It (20G)
Kill 500 enemies using melee weapons.
See Wizard’s Revenge for more information on this achievement. Kill 500 enemies using melee weapons and the achievement is yours.

wizard's revenge.jpg Wizard's Revenge (20G)
Kill 500 enemies using magic.
You should be able to get the 500 kills with each of the different attacks without too much issue during one playthrough. The biggest trick is to use one attack type (firearms, melee, or magic) until you get one of the three achievements (Gunning For Glory, If It Bleeds, We Can Kill It, and Wizard’s Revenge). Once you’ve gotten one of them, switch attack methods and continue playing. When you get the next achievement, switch to the final attack method and play until you get the final achievement. If you’re thorough and kill everything you come across you should get all three of the achievements before finishing the game.

you can't bring me down.jpg You Can't Bring Me Down (50G)
Complete Fable III without being knocked out in combat.
You will need to get through the entire game without getting knocked out. Here are a couple of tips to follow that will help you get through the game:
  • Buy every single healing potion that you can get, and don’t ever hesitate to use them.
  • Use ranged and magic attacks as much as possible to keep your distance.
  • If you happen to die and you’re quick you can quit to the dashboard and restart the game. If you do this you’ll start from your last checkpoint without the death counting at all. Granted, this is not guaranteed, so use it sparingly (like if you die towards the end of the game).

Once you’ve completed the game without being knocked out the achievement is yours.

Collect all 50 legendary weapons. They won’t all appear in your world, so trade with other Heroes!
This is the most tedious of all of the Fable III quests. You will need to have all 50 unique legendary weapons in your inventory at the same time to get this achievement. You can view the list of legendary weapons under the My Weapon's Better Than Yours achievement. You can only get up to 26 of the legendary weapons in your own solo playthrough (from shops, treasure chests, and quests), the other 24 you will need to get by playing in other players games over Xbox Live. It will take a while, though sometimes you can get lucky and find a player that has a full set that they’re willing to lend you to get the achievement. he's a woman. she's a man.jpg He's a Woman. She's a Man (5G)
Wear a full set of clothing intended for the opposite sex.
If you are playing as a woman you will get this achievement by simply playing through the game. If you are playing as a man you can get it easily by completing the quest “Missing Play.” You can find the quest in Brightwall, and during the course of the quest you will wear a woman’s outfit, a man’s outfit, and a chicken suit. Completing the quest gets you 20 Guild Seals. The other option is to simply wear an outfit designed for the opposite gender. This includes a hat, upper body, hands, lower body, and feet. Once you’ve worn an outfit designed for the opposite sex the achievement is yours.

dye hippie, dye.jpg Dye Hippie, Dye (5G)
Dye each part of an outfit you're wearing a different colour and have long hair.
You will need to have a full set of clothing (head, upper body, hands, lower body, and feet) that is dyed five different colors. You can unlock dyes in the Road to Rule, and you can purchase long hair at a barber shop. The outfit does not to be from a single set, it can be a mix and match of different outfits. Once you wear an outfit dyed five different colors and long hair the achievement is yours.

Hold hands with someone.
Story related and cannot be missed.

long distance relationship.jpg Long Distance Relationship (10G)

Either you or the person that you are marrying will need to have unlocked the Landlord Pack and the Family Pack from the Road to Rule. Once one of you has those packs, simply go through the motions to get married and the achievement is yours.

cross dimmensional conception.jpg Cross-Dimensional Conception (10G)
Have a child with another Xbox LIVE player.
Either you or the person that you are trying to have a child with will need to have unlocked the Landlord Pack and the Family Pack from the Road to Rule. Once one of you has those packs, get married and have sex in the Marital Home with one another. You and your partner must be opposite sexes to have a child together. Once you have a child the achievement is yours.

There are no special criteria for this achievement, just find someone online that’s willing to start a business partnership with you and the achievement is yours.

barrel of laughs.jpg Barrel of Laughs (10G)
Kill 30 enemies with explosive barrels.
You can get this easily through the course of the game if you are diligent about shooting explosive barrels while enemies are nearby. If you continue to concentrate on shooting barrels you can get your 30 kills by the time you finish the “Cable Car and Hobbes” quest. Once you get 30 kills with explosive barrels the achievement is yours.

we can be heroes.jpg We Can Be Heroes (10G)
Earn 1,000 gold in henchman wages in another Hero's world.
Whenever you join another player’s world you’ll earn approximately 1 gold every minute. If you do nothing in the world will require you to spend over 16 hours in another player’s world. The best way to get this is to work on some of your achievements while in another player’s world. You do not need to earn the entire 1,000 gold in a single session, so split it up throughout your playthrough. With some patience you will hit the 1,000 gold and the achievement is yours.

kaboom.jpg Kaboom! (10G)
Score 2000 on the Mourningwood Fort mortar game.
You will need the “Entrepreneur Pack” from the Road to Rule. Once you have that, head to Mourningwood Fort to play the mortar range mini game. This is very difficult solo, but it can be done in a co-op game. If you are doing it co-op you only need to get a combined score of 2,000 points. Either you or the other player must have the “Entrepreneur Pack” from the Road to Rule. Once you score 2,000 points, either solo or co-op, the achievement is yours.

lute hero tour.jpg Lute Hero Tour (10G)
Play in each town as a 5 star lute player.
You will need to unlock the “Level 5 Lute Hero” chest on the Road to Rule. With that chest unlocked, you must play a perfect round in Brightwall, Bowerstone Market, Dweller Camp, and the City of Aurora. You must do this in a single game session, meaning that quitting the game or turning off your Xbox will reset the count to zero and force you to redo any cities you have already done. Once you’ve played a perfect Level 5 lute round in each of the five cities the achievement is yours.

touched by a hero.jpg Touched By A Hero (10G)
Use touch expressions to interact with 20 different people.
This is very simple and can be done very early in the game. Simply shake hands or use another expression that requires touching people on 20 NPCs and the achievement is yours.

popularity contest.jpg Popularity Contest (15G)
Make 20 Friends.
You will need the “Friend Pack” from the Road to Rule. You do not need to make friends with other players online, but rather with NPCs in your own game. The simplest place to do this is in Brightwall, as most of the NPCs requests will be fairly local. Speak with NPCs and be friendly until they ask you to do something for them. Most of the time its simply fetch requests, so you’ll likely be fast travelling around quite a bit. Complete 20 friendship requests and the achievement is yours.

remodelling.jpg Remodelling (10G)
Remodel 5 different houses by changing the furniture.
You will need to have the “Landlord Pack” from the Road to Rule. Buy furniture from a shop and change it out with something in a house you own. Do this in 5 different houses that you own and the achievement is yours.

magnate personality.jpg Magnate Personality (50G)
Build a property empire worth 2,000,000 gold.
Whenever you have spare money, buy a house. Once you’ve purchased a house, redecorate it and then rent it out to start earning money. As you earn more and more you can purchase more expensive houses. Repeat the remodel and rent out process to start generating even more money. If you do it right and continue to buy the most expensive houses you can afford you should hit a property empire worth 2,000,000 gold. Once you do the achievement is yours.

crime spree.jpg Crime Spree (10G)
Get a 15,000 gold bounty placed on your head.
This isn’t too hard, but if you’re playing as a good character you’ll want to create a separate save file to do it in. Simply go into a town and break into locked houses, rob shops while people can see you, and attack town guards until your bounty is at 15,000. Leaving the area you’re working a bounty in will reset it to 0 gold, so be careful. The easiest place to do this is in Bowerstone Castle since there are so many guards present. Also, you need to do this before becoming ruler, otherwise you’ll have to go into another player’s world. Once you’ve gotten a bounty of 15,000 gold the achievement is yours.

henry VIII.jpg Henry VIII (10G)
As ruler of Albion, get married 6 times and kill 2 of your spouses.
Co-op marriages and marriages before you become the ruler of Albion will not count towards this achievement. During the second half of the game, after you become ruler, you will need to marry 6 different individuals and murder 2 of them. This isn’t that difficult, it just requires doing the extra friendship and relationship quests to marry NPCs. Once you’ve married 6 people and killed 2 of them the achievement is yours.

chest grangmaster.jpg Chest Grandmaster (40G)
Unlock all of the chests on the Road To Rule.
You will need to unlock every single chest in the Road to Rule. If you’re exceptionally thorough you can get this during the “Weight of the World” section of the game, but most likely you’ll get it during post game. You’ll need a LOT of seals to open all of the chests, so do all of the optional side quests, talk to people as much as you can, perform expressions with people, and fight everything. Once you unlock the final chest in the Road to Rule the achievement is yours.

tough love.jpg Tough Love (10G)
Save the maximum amount of Albion citizens.
After becoming King and determining Logan’s fate you will be told that your treasury contains 400,000 gold. You will need to make the “good” choice in every ruling, all of which cost money. To save the maximum amount of people you will need 6,500,000 gold in the treasury. You will need to save up the 6.5 million gold on your own to transfer to the treasury, so be sure to save as much as you can. The best way to earn this amount of money is to build your property empire as quickly as possible and start renting the houses as early as possible. This will generate a LOT of income for you. You will need the 6.5 million gold before you reach 121 days remaining in the rulings. Chose the good path for all of the rulings and the achievement is yours.

adopt or die.jpg Adopt Or Die (5G)
Adopt a child.
Go to the orphanage in Bowerstone to adopt a child. You will need to have unlocked the Family Pack chest in the Road to Rule first. Once you’ve adopted a child the achievement is yours.
