I dont own X360 but I have XB1 pre-order, do I need "Day 1" XBL card or.....

Can I just use the $40 XBL regular card I bought off an ebay deal last month? I don't SPECIFICALLY need that XBL "Day one" card, correct? It's all same thing except that card comes with some free game?
