Does anyone work from home on a full/part time basis (i.e. 20 to 40 plus hours a week)? If so, what do you do? Do you find your work satisfying?

It is probably a blessing to work from home because you won't have to worry about traffic, being late (for the most part), work shenanigans, work in your pajamas, and etc. I am sure at times, it gets lonely to work from home without any physical interaction with colleagues, associates, and etc.

that's like my dream haha, unfortunately I don't really have experience with the web or anything like that to work from home. I do have some free time when I'm not at work or gaming, so I guess maybe I could work to try to get something part time going, but I have no idea what it would be.

Once in a while I get to work from home for my regular job. We design electronic casino games at my job and some days I can just stay at home and work on designing a game with excel files and tools open and everything, so that's good, but I have to meet with design teams here at work so it's not every day I get to do it...unfortunately :p

Let me tell you, working from home isn't always the dream it sounds like.
I run a B&B/guesthouse/lodge (whatever you call it in your country) from my home, and with 28 rooms its one hell of a tough job.
From preparing breakfast from 5AM till Preparing dinner at 7PM, and till whatever time late at night when guest sometimes check in, I dont get time to "work in my pajamas" :)
Im checking the forums when Im supposed to do invoices lol

I don't know whether what I do can qualify to to be a full-time work-at-home program. I write, blog and do some offline computers jobs within the house. Briefly, I'm always using the computer in my house yet not making money all the time... some time I'm just playing games....

That's a bit different than what I was going for. I'm talking about like, dropshipping (if you're familiar) or running a large blog or writing or even having a Youtube channel to generate income...something that you can do for a bit then make money off of ads and stuff like that. It takes time though, and time I don't have.

Thank you all for sharing your experiences. I have been checking out sites online. Lots of people are in the drop shipping game. Is it a little too crowded? Or do people have to find their own little niche to become successful? Further, I am sure it takes a lot of work to find a solid, reliable and consistent wholesaler. Also the cost of shipping is an issue for some people. I have heard that some drop shippers provide free shipping. CrispyEggos: What do you do to get the pictures of the items? Do you get the pictures from the wholesaler?

I work from home, have a small business, and work a regular job. I don't think I'll ever be able to work from home full-time. I live in New York. The price of everything here is high and gets higher every two years or so. I am just happy I am not a wasteful spender shopping addict, or any kind of other addict. Otherwise, my habit would have left me broke and homeless by now!

I never heard of dropshipping, but doing something that you are comfortable with from home and getting an income from it, I guess there is alot of different aspects and points of view concerning that.

Dropshipping ain't easy and you still need an outlet for the items your selling ,Ebay being the main one and they can take a fair bit of the profit in fees, plus you have the added problem of someone else shipping goods for you and I have never been comfortable with some guy in China getting the address right or just throwing some broken crap in a box and sending it to your customer and you never seeing it.
But this is just my opinion I'm sure plenty of people make good money from it.

I'd never buy from a drop shipper on e-bay. Sounds like bad business! You rely on some stranger to ship items for you instead of the professionals at Fedex, UPS, DHL, or USPS? Hmm. I dunno. Granted they make mistakes too, lord knows but....at least they have a record to look back on. Unlike some guy named Joe.

Would be pretty great getting revenue from youtube videos, website traffic, etc.
Too bad I don't. Working from home would be my ideal job.

I attempted to work from home online. However, it does not work. The amount of income you make compared to the time spent working is not worth it. You spend too much time on the computer only to make little amounts of money.
