You might experience different types of display problems with your Xbox 360 console. Some of the common problems are:

  • Graphics are misshaped or don’t appear correctly.
  • Individual pixels appear corrupted.
  • Shapes are distorted. Random polygons, stretched objects, or long lines appear.
  • Clusters of green or purple pixels appear in the center of the screen.

Solutions

Step 1

You need to clean the disc you are playing.

Here is how:

  • Hold the disc by the edges. But don’t touch the top or bottom surfaces of the disc.
  • Take a piece of soft, clean and slightly damp cloth and wipe the cloth lightly from the center of the disc outward.
  • Now load your disc gain.

If the problem exists, try another disc to determine if the problem happens with other disc.

Step 2

You need to reset your AV cable connection. After turning off your console, unplug your AV cable from the back of your console, and then plug it back in again. Finally, turn your console on to check if the problem still exists.

If it still happens, you should ensure that you’re using the correct AV cable and console display settings.

Step 3

You should clear your system cache.

Here is how:

  • Go to Settings pressing the Guide button on your controller and then proceed to System Settings.
  • Select Storage or Memory.
    Never press the A button.
  • Select Clear System Cache.
  • Press Yes when prompted to confirm storage device maintenance.

Step 4

If the problem still exists, you should try another AV cable and TV. You can borrow another AV cable from your friend for testing. If the change doesn’t resolve the problem, you should connect your console to another TV.

Step 5

After performing all above, if the display problem still exists, your console might need to be repaired.
