I think this is good improving the quality of videos as sometimes i watch a video and think that for the new consoles, the graphics could be better on the console.
However, i dont know how true it is but people have said after a certain FPS, eyes start to not notice a huge difference.

Youtube announced the changes on Thursday. It said that soon its video service will support 48fps and 60fps playback, which is good news for gamers uploading content from their PS4 or Xbox One games consoles. Users will have to make sure to select HD 1080p format to enjoy the higher framerate, Youtube notes.
The firm said in a blog post, "Your video game footage with crazy high frame rates will soon look as awesome on Youtube as it does when you’re playing, when we launch support for 48 and even 60 frames per second in the coming months."
