Xbox One Buying Games Already Downloaded on Game Pass?

So I decided to take the plunge and buy Forza H4 while it was 50% off (since I like it so much) and then the stupid thing was asking me to download all 70 odd GB again???

Do I REALLY need to do that. Really?

It's not saying on Game Pass that I now own the game.

Do I honestly have to download the whole thing again, and will I lose my save?

Kind of regretting joining the Xbox thing and not just sticking with Steam now really..

And when I look on the Microsoft Store at the game it is inviting me to buy it. It's not saying at least I already own the game. I have a receipt for the game in my email though so I'm pretty sure I have bought the game. What a mess..
