Original Xbox Doom 3

The first time I booted this game up I was blown away. The graphics were amazing, the shadows, lighting, details, sound effects were all so fantastic and at that point I knew that the original XBOX was something special. Hell, my laptop can't even play this game NOW much less all those years ago. But after playing the game all the way through I felt a LITTLE let down. At the end of the day, it was an amazing game without a doubt, but it never felt quite like a Doom game. Basically, my point is : Amazing game, mediocre Doom game. What did everyone else think of it?

I think you hit the nail on the head. It was a nostalgia factor for me. Doom used to mean endless night time shenanigans fueled by Shasta and co-ed hijinks. Doom 3 was just me sitting in my underwear wishing there was porn that I had not seen yet.

Man Doom 3 was one of the scariest games i had at the time (Being pretty young) and even though i hated it because of how scary it was, it was incredibly fun and well made. I could never get far in the singleplayer though. No way man haha. I would just walk around the first level messing around with the people and games until **** started hitting the fan and then i quit it. Even though i was a pussy when it came to singleplayer i could not get enough of the co op multiplayer! I must have played through the multiplayer version 6-7 times all with random people and it felt like a whole new experience every time. I know it had drop in co op multiplayer on any map but i just wouldnt settle for anything but the first level, all the way to the end

I was playing so much Doom 3 with my friends that I didn't even play GTA IV that much. Now I'm busy trying to beat that game so I can play V. Doom totally threw me off of my gaming schedule. It was so much fun for me because I've playing the other games in the series. I though it was fun and lived up to the hype.

Man, I played Doom 3 a LOT when it came out. I thought it was terrifying because you're dealing with these creatures in confined spaces. You never knew what was around the corner and that feeling of dread stayed with me through most of the game. I think the first "Dead Space" owes a nod to this game. Same feeling, for me.

Doom 3 was an amazing game and one of the best games i have ever played. Very exciting and very challenging.

DOOM 3 was amazing. I even bought the updated version when it came out. Still one of the scariest games that I have ever played!
