I was having a discussion with some of my friends last night while playing a particularly difficult Rush map about how Dice changed the mechanics on claymores from the previous game. In the previous Battlefield during Hardcore mode, claymores laid down by members on your team wouldn't detonate when you walked past them. Now it seems that Dice has had a change of heart and flipped it.

Anyone else feel like this should be changed back to the way it was or should it stay the same. I vote for the former.

One of my friends wondered if Dice was gonna fix it in the next update. It seems unlikely. It seems Dice has rolled snake eyes on this change.

I like the challenge. Well it won't be bad to have this game mode but well since it's too hard even for me I would want the former back. Haha. I could say this game mode really is a bummer but I've tried to conquer it and barely won it over.

I like the idea *DISCLAMIER* (I haven't played it yet.) Anyway while I know I'll rage a few times I do think it fits the "hardcore" mode plus it will promote communication within the team.

I wouldn't think of it as unfair. I just think of it as difficult and hardcore. It's a challenge and it just makes me want to go up against it even more.

I think it's totally fair. I mean, IRL (not that a video game is of course) if you step into a claymore, you're going to get blown up, right? Regardless of who set it. Hardcore is the land of one shot kills, as opposed to having to hit someone multiple times, So it makes sense that walking into a claymore set by your own team member would kill you as well.

As far as promoting communication within the team, that never happens with strangers-only when playing with people on mt friend list. I get so sick of listening to obnoxious kids that I usually don't even bother putting a headset on unless I'm in party chat with friends while playing.

Agreed. This doesn't bother me at all. If you don't like it, then don't play in hardcore mode.

I think it's a more realistic decision on Dice's part. I can understand some users being irritated though, especially if they were used to not being affected by friendly claymores in the previous games' hardcore mode.

I was going to go the other way with it, and say that it is unfair. However, you have changed my mind. Your right, in real life a claymore is not going to distinguish whose team you are on. Therefore, while difficult, it is realistic. I think that is what is important. I say, it is fair and carry on.

Oh my god I LOVE hardcore mode! There's such excitement in having a feeling of lethality and mortality. It takes the game beyond just decreasing your enemy's hitpoints and makes you really value your character's life.
