Anybody have any hidden gems for the 360 that they would like to share? By "hidden gems", I mean some good games that got overlooked for one reason or another. Please don't say Halo 4...

Thanks in advance!

Since I wrote about it last night, Catherine is fresh on my mind. Catherine takes place in Japan and you essentially play though a few days in the life of Vincent. The game's mechanics is a puzzle platform style game. Let me say, the mechanics are actually brilliant, fun and challenging. You are truly rewarded every single time you make it up and get to a new area to talk to the people are who are in the same situation as the main protagonist.

There are social mechanics involved where you're attempting to either help others make it through their own problems or you can be cruel and aid in their demise as well. Over time, your path will lead you to one of six endings. Great game. There's some extras added in so the replay value is still there after a play through as well.

I actually know of Catherine. I never got around to picking it up, but had followed it from the beginning. I'm not sure that I would consider it a hidden gem per se. If I recall correctly it got pretty good reviews. Not sure how it did commercially though.

I think you should try Nier. Nier isn't the best game ever, but it tells a great story and there are amazing characters in it. There are some game design problems like having a too-small world to play in and repetitive quests, but the game play is fun and the story good enough. Nier got some bad press because a blogger a certain site couldn't figure out how to do a fishing quest (which is really easy by the way) and will probably forever be known best by most gamers for that instead of the things it does well. If you actually give it a chance, though, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with Nier. It is a memorable experience that is worth playing.
