Hitbox PS4/PS5 Compatibility

For both PS4 and PS5, the hitbox controller will work for 8 minutes before it times out and stops responding. Below are the methods for circumventing the 8 minute timeout.

PS4 Mode​

This mode will only work for PS4 games on both PS4 and PS5, not PS5 games.You will need to either upload authentication keys (Keys) or use a compatible dongle/controller (Host USB).Do not ask for information on where/how to get authentication keys.

If your controller successfully authenticates, you should see the PS4 change to PS4:AS on the OLED screen. If this does not happen, expect the controller to time out.

PS5 Mode​

This mode will work for PS4 games and PS5 games that support legacy controllers.Ensure that the following things are configured correctly.

• Under the Settings section, you have set the input mode as PS5 and the Authentication Settings is set to Host USB
• Under the Peripheral Mapping section, you have configured a USB Host Port
• A compatible dongle or controller is used
• That the dongle/controller is plugged into the EXT port on the controller, not the console.

If your controller successfully authenticates, you should see the PS5 change to PS5:AS on the OLED screen. If this does not happen, expect the controller to time out.

In all cases, be sure to press Home for the console to register your controller.​

Note: You must connect to a PS4 or PS5 to verify that it successfully authenticates.
