Original Xbox Laser Replacement on Xbox

Although it's been awhile, I remember when the laser went out on my Xbox and I had to either replace it, get another Box, or do without. I figured the best option was replacing it, since I'm fairly good with electronics. It wasn't that big of a deal overall, although I was initially a bit worried that I'd screw something up. It wasn't much different from changing a graphics card on a PC though.

Anybody else dealt with this? Did you replace the laser or get a new drive? Or did you just get another box?

I needed a laser replacement as well but i figured i was going to get a new xbox in a couple of weeks so i never bother replacing it.
