I have been anticipating this game since it was announced. The sheer scale of it astonishes me. Here are some quotes from the website in case you aren't familiar with it...

"Whether a distant mountain or a planet hanging low on the horizon, you can go there. You can fly seamlessly from the surface of a planet to another, and every star in the sky is a sun that you can visit.

Where you’ll go and how fast you’ll make your way through this universe is up to you. It’s yours for the taking."

"Explore uncharted solar systems and catalogue unique new forms of life. Every planet’s landscape is different from the next, and populated by species never before encountered.

Find ancient artefacts that could reveal the secrets behind the universe.

Choose whether to share your discoveries with other players. They’re exploring the same vast universe in parallel; perhaps you’ll make your mark on their worlds as well as your own."

It seems amazing, especially for someone like me, who is interested in space and futuristic space exploration. The graphics are quite impressive, especially given the scale of the game. They say there will be over 18 billion billion unique explorable planets. It would take 10 years to discover every planet if everyone on earth discovered 500 planets per minute.

I would love to have a planet of my own, far from everyone else that I can explore and enjoy, it just seems like an amazing prospect. The simple things about this game impress me, like the beautiful user interface.

The sad part is that there is no sign of it coming to Xbox, at least not for now. The only reason I see for this is because they might not have started optimization for Microsoft's console hardware yet. I hope to be able to play it on my Xbox One some time in the future. What do you think of this game?

It looks rather amazing however I don't have a PS4 or a gaming capable PC so I'll just have to stick with Elite Dangerous.

I'm so in love with this concept, it's insane. When I first heard the way this game would work out, I couldn't fathom how much work went into the algorithms, but now i'm just fully ready for this game to become a paradise in the long term for open-world exploration.

I think that No man's sky is the game that everyone as been waiting for ever since it was first mentioned what? 3 years ago now maybe?

With a game hyped up as much as this though, there's a chance it could be a huge let down when it is finally released but we just have to trust that it will be everything they promise it will be.

I really can't see this being a let down, lol. Considering the scale of it, the already-existent player desire for it, the mass fan base this game will accumulate, the only way it can fail is if they don't keep it up to date with ideas that players want to see added or changed

I think with a project as big as this, they'll have to be constantly developing it as more and more people start to play and get involved.

Like you say, I can't see it being a let down, I just hope when the game is released its given chance to iron out any issues it might have before people start giving it the poor reviews like they have done with other games in the past.

I totally agree with you. One of my biggest hopes for this game is that they keep it up-to-date regularly and offer as many updates as possible along the way, because I seriously doubt that this game can be anywhere near perfect the first time around, if ever.

My biggest hope for the game is that it eventually makes its way to Xbox One.

I guess you can compare this game to Minecraft in some ways. Its a massive game with endless opportunities and possibilities, but even though it is practically infinite, it depends a lot on the items and tools you can use. Minecraft has an infinite world that will always generate something new, but you can only use certain blocks and certain tools.

You eventually get bored of using those items. Game developers compensate for this by constantly updating the game with new content to keep players happy and interested. I hope the developers do this for No Man's Sky, I played Minecraft for two years before I got bored, but today I can't play for 10 minutes without closing the game.

No Man's Sky is a game I hope to invest years into, I just hope the developers keep the content coming, even if it is in the form of an occasional DLC.

Well as what's already been said, the game as been in development for a number of years now so the pressure is certainly on to make sure it's impressive for the developers to keep their credibility.

Most new games have a certain amount of hype surrounding them, but with No Mans Sky that hype is probably the most I've seen for a game.
