The PR title fight is far from over, and after E3 here in the states, the next battlefronts will be Gamescom in Europe in August, and the Tokyo Game Show in Japan in September. So that's two more head to head fights in major venues coming up, and even though the public in general believe Sony won the first round, I think we'll see that Microsoft may be down but is far from out.

A lot has changed in the last month alone in terms of DRM issues, games exclusivity, hardware details, so it is still anyone's game. The polls are somewhat closed on the preorder sites, but that can still change at any minute if one side convinces the fencesitters to cancel and jump sides. This whole thing is starting to sound like the presidential debates.

Pre-fight analysis and predictions, anyone?

I will rather Round 3 right? Because Round 1, it was the first Sony conference (February) vs. the first Microsoft conference (May).
Then Round 2 was at E3.
And now we are in round 3.

This will be the ultimate showdown! The last conference before the release of the console! Microsoft's last chance to catch up. Sony will show that the PS4 is still a good console.

I look forward to these conferences! I'm really looking for new names and new exclusive trailers on both consoles!

Gamescom and E3 are very different , E3 is purely a press conference, whereas Gamescom is open to the public and tends to be a lot less formal. I personally doubt this will be the 'ultimate showdown', but they would be foolish to pass up this opportunity to reveal some things. I don't thing they will show off anything major, but they might perhaps show off some of the games from the release lineup. Or they might even do some hands on sessions. The only bad thing about Gamescom is that it's often not very well covered in the gaming news. The devs/publishers often have very small and dark rooms where recording isn't allowed so unless you actually go there, you won't really know what's happening. Some companies do let you record, but the big AAA businesses tend to be rather secretive about their work.
