Xbox 360 Skyrim Hearthfire Achievements Guide

Hearthfire was the second downloadable add-on for Skyrim. Released in September 2012, Hearthfire gave the player the ability to buy plots of land and build their own houses, as well as the ability to adopt children.

The Hearthfire DLC contained 5 possible achievements:

PROUD PARENT (10G)
Adopt a child.
Once you own a house in Skyrim you’ll be able to adopt a child. There are a number of places that children can be adopted from:

• Cities (Dawnstar, Solitude, Whiterun, Windhelm)
• Honorhall Orphangae.

To adopt from Honorhall you must first kill Grelod the Kind. Once dead, wait a couple of weeks and come back and you should be able to adopt. Adopt any child and the achievement is yours.


LANDOWNER (10G)
Buy a plot of land.
Buy one of the plots of land listed in Land Baron below and the achievement is yours.


ARCHITECT (10G)
Build three wings on a house.
Keep building sections onto a house until you can’t build anymore. You’ll need to buy a decent amount of sawn logs, iron ingots, and some corundum ingots. You’ll also need to mine quarried stone and clay, both of which can be found in infinite amounts near each build site. The wings you add don’t matter, so build whatever seems most appealing to you. Build the full house and the achievement is yours.


LAND BARON (10G)
Buy three plots of land.
There are three plots of land. Each one required you to complete a quest for the Jarl of the hold it’s located in.

• Windstad Manor – Hjaalmarch – complete “Laid to Rest”
• Lakeview Manor – Falkreath – complete “Rare Gifts” and “Kill the Bandit Leader”
• Heljarchen Hall – The Pale – complete “Waking Nightmare” and “Kill the Giant”

Each plot of land costs 5000 gold. Buy one and the achievement is yours.


MASTER ARCHITECT (10G)
Build three houses.
This will come right after Land Baron. Once you own all three plots it’s a simple matter to build houses on all of them. Build all three and the achievement is yours.
