Sony: Microsoft Reversal 'Better Late Than Never' - IGN

It looks like the war of words between the two companies is still going as Sony of America president Jack Tretton speaks on Microsoft's recent policy reversal. He stated that E3 was the beginning o f a ten year battle and that even though Sony won E3, the war is far from over. He also goes on to say that despite the rumors, all of the decisions Sony had made had nothing to do with Microsoft, including the $399 price and everything was decided months in advance.

Yes despite the rumors, he says that everything was planned in advance for E3. Yet their whole tone for their event was based towards Microsoft and how they played their hand. Their whole conference was saying everything what the PS4 was, and everything that the Xbox One wasn't.
