Following the earlier leak, Game Informer has gone live with its cover reveal of Arkham Knight.

As you'd expect, the accompanying write-up corroborates much of what we said below. The Batmobile is explained as a "core element" of gameplay, which means a new area of Gotham larger than Arkham City will be revealed, including wider streets to accommodate the vehicle.

According to VideoGamer.com, the listing notes that Arkham Knight is the “explosive finale” to the revived Batman videogame series started by Rocksteady with 2009’s Batman: Arkham Asylum. Scarecrow, Penguin, Two-Face, and Harley Quinn are confirmed villains that will appear in the game.

I'll be honest, the idea of a next gen Batman game makes me a little excited. I was a big fan of the first two games although not so much of the last one which was developed by someone other than Rocksteady. It's great to keep hearing about so many new games in development, I just hope they save some announcements for E3. How do you guys feel about the Arkham series?

Update: Major US retailer GameStop has listed Batman: Arkham Knight's release date as October 14, 2014. October 14 is a Tuesday -- the traditional day games are released in the US -- indicating this isn't a placeholder, but the actual release date.

Loved the first one... think they tried too hard on arkham city. They just seemed to try and stuff too much into one game. They had about every villain in the game and it just lost something story wise. The first one was great though. I have origins, but have not played it yet. Although I admit, it just doesn't look as good as the first two. I hated the riddler trophies in the second game. They were so annoying with the timed exploits that I didn't even bother to get them all. Yet I did everything in the first game to get 100% complete. I just played arkham city just to complete it.

I will get the new one just because they are good games, my decision will be whether to get it on xone or PC.....
 
agree with above.. firt one was best batman game to date. the fighting mechanics, general storyline,how intimate you felt with batman just made the game a 10 star... they got way to ambitious in the second game. the map was so big. you could kinda do what you wanted and had a very open storyline..

the trailer for the arkham knight looks good but its not real gameplay so it means nothing to me. it seems all video gmes are going the route of cinematic trailers and starting the pres releases before the game really has any footwork or game is really substantial..

Well the concept seen in the trailer reveals a lot of the ideas for the story at least. We know its in the future and that Scarecrow is gathering a team of villains. The bat suit is actual armor now. It's also interesting to see its for next gen consoles only.

Yeah, this is truly the batman of the next generation. Love the armor on him and the action scenes on the trailer were really cool. I'll keep a close watch on this game. By the way I did like the first game.
 
OMG Damn, this is going to be SUH-WEET! Well, well, it's back in the hands of the developers who made Asylum and City. Well, in that case, I might as well get dirty and finish Asylum and City in Steam so I'm ready for this game.

Damn, this trailer was OFF THE HOOK. I know it's not gameplay but still, it had some awesomeness to it. And the fact that it's not being made for the last-gen already tells us that Rocksteady's going to make this a truly next-gen Batman. Cannot wait for this ;-D

Same here. Man, I'm hyped for the game. But I wonder though: who's the Arkham Knight? I know it's not Batman, 'cuz he's the Gotham Knight. Maybe a new character?

You got it right there man. Arkham Knight looks to really end the series on a very high note. Hope it rocks and rolls man!

This will be the best batman yet to be released. Awesome graphics and I hope the game play is the same as well.

Well I hope it does well. The previous batman game was great as well but this looks even better hopefully it isn't just the trailer that looks so good.
 
Confirmed: Arkham Knight is a new character made for the game, specifically an archrival for Batman.

Wow, now that's really interesting. So they just created this new character just for the new game? wow. I hope they can make this into a movie as well.

Hehehe. Yeah, that is interesting. And to think, it's made by DC themselves, so that means they're making sure this game stays true to what Batman is all about. Awesome! Looking forward to this.

Same here. Oh yeah, by the way, I've checked the website. It doesn't really show how the character looks like but I'm hoping he's one hell of an enemy.
