In order to get the Every Man, Women, and Child achievement you'll have to find all the survivors and travel with them. As mentioned in the achievement guide thread, its impossible to get them all in one playthrough All in all there are 16 survivals in the game and you have to meet them all. But, before we start our two stage journey, I would like to share one important tip that should be remembered and kept in mind no matter where you go. It will save you some time and will make this achievement a lot closer to become real. So, when you hear Daryl talking while you are searching for Random Survivals, make sure you dashboard immediately. Daryl’s dialogues mean that in a few moments you will reach the Main Objective and you do not want that (yet). At the same time, if you do not hear Daryl talking, there is nothing to worry about even if the main objective seems to be closer than never. You see – entering the main objective area closes the opportunity to search for survivors.
And now, as for the route itself: before you start reading any further, I need to warn you that there are some major spoilers waiting for you and if the game’s plot means a lot more for you than this achievement, you should not read any further and finish the game at least once for your interest and then come back to see how it goes.

Survivor #1: Jess Collins
Location: Cabot Ridge
Jess Collins is a story related survivor and can’t be missed no matter what you do. You are going to meet him at the very beginning of the game. You cannot dismiss him either, so if you do not like the fellow – just deal with it.

Survivor #2: Jimmy Blake
Location: Sedalia
Jimmy Blake will be your first REALLY optional survival in the game. He also happens to be a Police Officer in the area. You will find him through your natural progression: go through the grocery store, open the back door, kill the walker enjoying his meal and after you do that, you should hear someone calling you. There will be a ladder on the wall to you right. Obviously, use it to climb on the roof and to your right you are going to find the already mentioned police officer who goes under the name Jimmy Blake. After a short chat he will ask you to bring him batteries for his radio. Well, do what he asks for and get back to him with the batteries. This will make this guy available for the further journey in your car.

Survivor #3: Warren Bedford
Location: Sedalia
Warren Bedford is a story related survival and it is impossible to miss him. You will find him hiding at the gas station. He will tell you a secret on how to run the generator and get gas for your vehicle. Instead, you will promise to take him with you. After obtain the keys, pump gas for your car, run from a group of zombies and make your way to your car. Now you will have an option to choose either Jimmy Blake or Warren Bedford to come with you. You see, there are only three sits in the car: one is reserved for you, as a driver, the other one will be reserved by the obligatory survival Jess Collins and the last one will be free. Well, it doesn’t matter whom you choose to stay as long as you choose with your heart or any other subjective criterion.

ROAD OPTION A (Garwater)

Survivor #4: Sarah Bell (Random Survivor)

Location and Route: Sedalia > Garwater
On your way from Sedalia to Garwater you are going to meet another random survival. She will be the woman hiding from zombies on the top of the Gas Station. In order to meet her you will have to do the following:
- search for a big truck blocking the road;
- go through the building to you right;
- use the back exit to exit the building;
- right in front of you there should be a ladder;
- climb the ladder to get on the top of the gas station;
- meet Sarah Bell.
Talk to the lady and she will ask you to do her a favor. Instead she will join your group and will help you out with everything one can imagine. You task will be to find some food. Unfortunately, for some reason she won’t accept your MRE (aka health pack) even besides being pretty hungry and exhausted. Well, reach for the food that should be across the extended ladder right behind you. The only tip here – be careful not to fall down. Now, search the rooms for something that can be consumed and even enjoyed as a dinner and get back to Sarah Bell. After another short conversation Sarah will agree to come with you and after you leave the area, you will get an option to add her to your A Team.

Survivor #5: Mia Park (Random Survivor)
Location: Fontana
Before you start exploring Fontana, you need to know that Mia Park is a missible survivor and there is a possibility that you will complete the area without locating the poor girl. Also, finding her is only possible through another survivor known as Anna Turner. Luckily, she is a lot easier to find. Talk to Anna and she will offer you some supplies in exchange of finding Mia Park. Obviously, agree on her proposal and start looking for Mia. The girl will be hiding in the Movie Theatre that is right across from the diner. Make your way through some walkers and start looking for the supply bag on the floor. It should be next to some dead bodies. Rather sooner than later Mia will show herself but do not expect things to go as planned because she will mistakenly identify you as a shooter and will run away. But, she is too scared to leave the theatre, so simply follow her to the projector room and talk to the poor girl scared to death. Get back to Anna Turner and talk to her saying that you’ve found the girl. Get your food reward. Now, finish all the other business you have here and while leaving the area, dismiss at least one survival to let Mia Park go with you.

Survivor #6: Holly Gaines (Random Survivor)
Location and Route: Fontana > Cleburne or Cleburne > Lemon Hill
Holly Gaines can be found on your way from Fontana to Cleburne or from Cleburne to Lemon Hill. When you reach the place with lots of dead zombies lying on the ground, it means that you’ve came to the right place. Don’t freak out and simply make your way to the wooden cabin that’s in the back left (it is really hard to miss). Check the whole cabin, including the back rooms, and you will find Holly Gaines hiding in a room with a window.

Survivor #7: Todd Jeffries (Random Survivor)
Location: Cleburne
Todd Jeffries isn’t story related survival and can be missed through your natural progression. However, you will very likely locate him right after falling through the floor in the Cleburne Hospital. Well, he won’t be expecting you right under the broken floor but you will find him not far from the falling place. Here’s what you need to do next: after falling through the floor – go right. Keep going until you reach the farthest room on your left. There will be some barricades but don’t worry – you can easily jump over them. Check the darkest corner of the room and Todd Jeffries will be hiding there. He is wearing a T-shirt with an Evil Smiley that kind of makes him look suspicious and the whole situation with the zombies ironical. Well, talk to him anyway and he will agree to join you at the end of the area.

Survivor #8: Noah Cruz (Random Survivor)
Location: Cleburne
It is very important for you to locate Noah Cruz and save him as soon as possible. He can be found in an upper room where you will be forced to make an important choice with a doctor. Now, as I’ve said – save Noah Cruz. If you do not do this now, after you move forward, he will be bitten by the walkers and will obviously die. And dead survivors are not the best companions ever. So, just keep that in mind.

Survivor #9: Ahmad Farran (Random Survivor)
Location and Route: Cleburne > Lemon Hill or Lemon Hill > Barksdale
Ahmad Farran is a random survivor and can be found on your way from Cleburne to Lemon Hill or from Lemon Hill to Barksdale. He will be standing on top of an overturned vehicle. It is really hard to miss the place he’s at as far as when you approach the overturned vehicle, together with the man on the car you will see lots of zombies dancing around and roaring the Hunger Song. Come closer and kill all the zombies around the poor Ahmad Farran. When you’re done, Ahmad will come down to thank you and will agree to join you. Probably, you will have to dismiss someone from your group in order to invite Ahmad in. Do so and continue looking for some exotic adventures.

Survivor #10: Anna Turner
Location: Barksdale
Anna Turner is a story related survivor and can’t be missed through your natural progression. You will locate her shortly after obtaining the desired Crossbow. Your task is to save her from the walkers trying to reach her trapped on the top of a vehicle. Though, you need to remember that saving Anna Turner will end the area you are in, so make sure you’ve got everything covered beforehand. Also, probably, you will have to dismiss someone from your group in order to take Anna with you.

Survivor #11: Noah Cruz
Location: Lafferty
At this point Noah Cruz is not a missible Survivor and you will come across him anyway. Though to make it easier for you to locate the guy, I am going to reveal his location: you will find Noah Cruz in the very first room of the Outlet Mall. If you saved Noah when you first met him, you will get a chance to take him with you. Just make sure that there’s a place for this fellow in your car. However, if you’ve made a decision to play a bad guy and left Noah alone, he will die from zombie bites and you won’t be able to recover him from the dead.

Survivor #12: Gloria Garcia (Random Survivor)
Location and Route: Lafferty > Polksville or Barksdale > Sherwood
Gloria Garcia is a random survivor and can be missed on your way to Polksville or Sherwood. Rather sooner than later you are going to see a woman standing on a derailed train car. This woman is Gloria Garcia. Though, you won’t be able talk to her just from the spot because she will be surrounded by the zombies. Take down as many as you can in order to make your way to the train car and get into it. This has to be done because under the influence of so many walkers and fear she will jump inside the car herself. Talk to Gloria Garcia only to find out that she won’t leave the place until you kill all the zombies around. Well, as a real gentleman you should do what the woman asks you to do and take care of all the zombies wondering around. Though, the good news is that you are allowed to use your guns as much as you want and no more zombies will spawn even if you shoot all the ammo you have from all the guns you keep in your inventory. Well, thanks for that at least. After you’re done killing the dead (it does sound kind of funny), talk to Gloria Garcia again and after pretty short conversation she will join your group. After you complete the area and head to the next location, you will see her profile among the survivors. Choose the poor woman and make a room for her in your car.

Survivor #13: Gloria Garcia (Random Survivor)
Location and Route: Polksville > Sherwood
Shelley Berger is a random survivor and can be missed through your natural progression. When you find yourself in the Sherwood location, be very attentive because Shelley Berger won’t be an easy person to find. She will be hiding in one of the neighborhood houses, the one with the black door. In order to get inside you will have to destroy the fences first. Or, you can attract some walkers and make them do that for you. After you deal with the fence, start looking for her in every building coming from door to door. Usually, Shelley Berger is hiding in one certain place but some users report that her location changes from time to time. Well, that is why it is recommended to check every building and every room for her presence. Though, to help you out a bit, try to locate a room that is barricaded. Make your way through the barricades and you will locate Shelley Berger hiding in the darkest corner of the room. Come closer and talk to her. After that get out of the house and make your way to the vehicle. Of course, keep your eyes on the crowd and make sure to check every corner for any possible unexpected surprises. Once you exit the area and reach your vehicle, Shelley Berger will be available in the survivor menu. Dismiss other survivor if necessary to make room for her.

Survivor #14: Jane Carroll (Random Survivor)
Location: Sherwood
Jane Carroll is a story related survivor but can be easily missed due to the limitations of your truck sits. Anyway, Jane Carroll can be found in the very second house to your right after you enter the area. Find her in the house and start the conversation. After you’re done talking, your next task will be to find Terry Harrison. He is a man living in the house right across the street. This fellow will be hiding on the roof. Talk with him about some stuff including the evacuation and get back to Jane Carroll to her house. For some reason, the front door will be closed this time and you will be forced to go around the house and enter the building from the black entrance. By the way: make sure you’ve done everything in this location because your next conversation with Jane Carroll will end the mission and you won’t be able to get back to this location again.

From this point, is you still want to complete this achievement, take the Road Option 2. This will give you an opportunity to save the rest of survivors and get what you came for.

ROAD OPTION B (Pemberton)

Survivor #15: Mike Swenson
Location: Oakview
Mike Swenson is a story related survivor and can’t be missed. You will find him in the lumber yard area. Go through the hole in the fence > pass by all the tents and head to the building in front of you. There is a possibility to go through the door to your right or to climb the ladder and walk across the extended ladder in order to get on the roof. Both options will work just fine and if, for some reason, the first one is not acceptable, make sure you use the other. So, after you’ve made a decision to use the roof, get on the opposite side of the building. From here get down from the roof using another ladder. When you’re on the ground, Mike Swenson will call your over, so just get closer to him and start the conversation. Pick up Merle's med's lying behind and exit the area via the door beside Mike Swenson. Now, you need to make your way through the area with blades and lots of wood. Here you can use the only working conveyer to chop some zombies and get one of the achievements mentioned below aka “This Is How Hot Dogs Are Made.” Once you’re done making hot dogs, make your way to the vehicle by killing zombies where necessary and hiding when you can. When you reach your car, you will have an option to add Mike Swenson to your crew and continue your journey.

Survivor #16: Sheila Schneider
Location: Danvers
Sheila Schneider is a story related survivor and can’t be missed through your natural progression. She will be hiding in Danvers in the ClaraChem facility behind a glass window. After you meet Schneider, she will tell you a story about the worst experience ever and, being a good gentleman, you are very likely to offer her your escort. By all means, she will appreciate your concern and would like to join your survivor team. Just dismiss a place for her in the car if necessary and keep on rolling.

Survivor #17: Terry Harrison
Location: Sherwood
Terry Harrison is very likely to become your very last survivor you are going to meet. He is story related, though, can be easily missed. On the top of that, you are allowed to pick one survivor only at this area meaning that you will have to dismiss all the others in order to make things right and complete this achievement the way it should be complete. As for Terry Harrison himself, you will meet the fellow in the second house to your left right after you enter the Sherwood area. When you find him, he will be standing beside his wife in their bedroom. Your next goal will be to find some meds to ease her pain. Antibiotics won’t be hard to find but by the time you are back, she will already be gone (shot dead, to be exact). If you have any other things to do here –do not talk to Terry Harrison and search the location. After that – come back to him and his dead wife. Start the conversation and this will end the location.
From here it is recommended to take the Road Option A to save all the other survivors.
I know, I know: you are probably wondering why there are 17 survivors when I said that there should be 16 only. Well, the first survivor is impossible to miss and you will have to travel with him for a while so technically he is an obligatory bonus +1. The other 16 can be found through your natural progression. You also need to keep in mind that there is a great possibility that you are not going to find those survivors on the places I’ve found them. Well, just search the area and look in every corner. Also, a lot more are said to be met on the road, especially when you take the highway. So, consider it as a little advice to follow.
