There are 24 Peg Leg trinkets to be found in Assassin’s Creed 3. They’re located in Boston, the Frontier, Homestead and New York. First things first-You need to stop by a shop and buy a map, which will reveal the locations to you – OR, if you’re trying to save your pennies, you can follow this guide to their locations. (Note: The trinkets won’t show up on the map until you discover each new area).
Connor learns about Captain William Kidd’s treasure by Peg Leg. He can be found at the Davenport Homestead after getting to Aquila (the ship, in case you haven’t made it that far yet). Peg Leg basically tells you that he wants you to collect all of the trinkets and hand them over to him, and in return he will give you the letters that will lead you to the treasure. Needless to say, if you’re going to attempt finding the trinkets, you had better be prepared to collect all of them. Otherwise you won’t get the big prize at the end of the tunnel. You’ll get some of the letters that will unlock additional side-missions, but not the BIG prize.
