Bioshock Infinite Achievement Guide

Introduction
Bioshock Infinite is the third title in the amazing Bioshock franchise. The Bioshock Infinite story starts a few decades before the original Bioshock timeline in 1912 in a floating city also known as Columbia. You will play your game as Booker Dewitt: an honorable man with lots of debts behind his back. Characters, landscapes and game principles have nothing in common with the dark corridors of underwater city shown in Bioshock 1 and 2 but the bright weather and smiling faces is not exactly what you are going to enjoy. The whole city is about to vanish in revolutionary spirits and you, being a loner, will be forced to find yourself between the devil and the blue. Though, this journey will become unforgettable for you: unique machines, floating buildings and strange technological ideas won’t make you feel careless even for a little moment. Also, you won’t be alone in your journey and amazingly beautiful and honest young girl Elizabeth will join you to guide through the City of broken dreams and lies.
In general unlocking the whole set of 50 achievements won’t be a hard thing to do. On the complexity level I won’t give them more than 4 points out of 10. Though, there are a few achievements (as always) that will require you to be very and very attentive and very and very persistent. For instance, unlocking “1999” achievement will make you hair grey and you will swear like a dock worker until things become complete. Luckily, all 50 achievements can be unlocked offline and you do not have to search for any companions in order to finish the game with 1000G points. The game is really interesting to play and it might take you from 16 and up to 30 hours to get things done. But if I were you, I would spend as many time as possible on Bioshock Infinite because its plot (well, especially the plot) is worth every minute spent with.
The greater part of the achievements mentioned will come to you rather naturally but there are a few that can be easily missed. For example:
- Hazard Pay (you will have to kill 10 enemies utilizing environmental hazards);
- Heartbreaker (you will have to kill a Handyman by only shooting his heart);
- Infused with Greatness (you will have to collect every Infusion upgrade in a single playthrough);
- Scavenger Hunt (you will have to complete the game in 1999 mode without purchasing anything from a Dollar Bill vending machine).
On the top of that, the difficulty you play on will affect some of the achievements. For example, achievements like “Tin Soldier”, “Saw the Elephant”, “Stone Cold Pinkerton”, “Stone Cold Pinkerton” and “Auld Lang Syne” directly depend on the difficulty you play.
Well, below are the achievements for Bioshock Infinite, along with the number of achievement points you’ll receive and a summary on how to get each achievement.

Tin Soldier.jpgTin Soldier (10)
Completed the game on Easy difficulty or above.

If you are not familiar with FPS (First Person Shooters) but still want to play Bioshock Infinite, it is highly recommended to choose this difficulty. Enemies won’t harm you seriously and dying in the game will be quite a challenge.

Saw the Elephant.jpgSaw the Elephant (25)
Completed the game on Normal difficulty or above.

Playing on Normal adds some challenge to the game process but still seems to be relatively easy. Enemies will be harder to kill and won’t expose themselves easily to your bullets. It is recommended to complete this game on Normal difficulty if you know what FPS (First Person Shooters) are but you do not play them much and have a lack of shooting practice.

Stone Cold Pinkerton.jpgStone Cold Pinkerton (50)
Completed the game on Hard difficulty or above.

Playing this game on Hard difficulty will be challenging so get used to the word “Restart” because you will see it a lot. Enemies will be pretty hard to kill and getting different items, including ammo and gear, won’t be that easy. Though, if you attempt to complete this game on Hard difficulty, after the very last mission you are supposed to get all three achievements connected with the difficulty played including the previously mentioned “Tin Soldier,” “Saw the Elephant” and, of course, “Stone Cold Pinkerton.”

Auld Lang Syne.jpgAuld Lang Syne (75)
Completed the game on 1999 mode.

If completing Bioshock on Hard difficulty is not challenging enough for you, then there is something special waiting for you. Completing the game on 1999 mode is almost impossible because it will require you to be very patient and very careful. 1999 mode has its own rules and if you think you can break them – think again.
In order to enter the 1999 mode, you will have to enter the good old Konami code. So, when in the main menu, enter the following code in the exact order:

On the D-pad press Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right “B” and “A”.

This will unlock the “Should Auld Acquaintance...” and will make the 1999 mode available from the menu to be picked. Of course, you can start playing it the very same moment you unlock it but it is recommended to complete the game on either Normal or Hard difficulty first. This will help you to get a better feeling of the game itself and unexpected enemies running out from behind the corner won’t be that unexpected in your second playthrough.
Now, before you enter playing the 1999 mode, here are a few vital tips you need to keep in your mind.
1. Dying in 1999 mode isn’t cheap. If you get killed, you will have to pay from 75 and up to 100 silver coins to restart from the checkpoint. No coins – no respawns. But, the good news that you won’t be sent to the very beginning of the game: just to the very beginning of the section you were currently on. This saves the situation a bit but not as you would expect.
2. Unlike any other difficulty mode, even if you dealt 90% of damage to the Boss enemy but still died, it will respawn with the full health and you will be forced to start killing him all over again.
3. In 1999 Mode you won’t have any Aim assistance. While I enjoy playing without it anyway, some gamers might find it very disturbing.
4. Tougher enemies will become even tougher with more health and a lot better accuracy.
5. I know it sounds obvious, but you won’t be able to change your difficulty while playing in 1999 mode.
6. You will have some serious problems managing you resources, so make sure you play carefully and do not waste your ammo or vigors here and there.
7. You will take 200% of the regular damages and at the same time will deal only 50% of your own damage to the enemies.
8. Shield recharge delay will be 6 seconds and its rate will last for 4 seconds.
But that is not all. While playing in 1999 Mode, it is recommended to go for another achievement also known as “Scavenger Hunt.” Your task here is to complete the game in 1999 mode but without spending a single coin on the Dollar Bill vending machine. While it does sound like and easy task, you will very likely approach those machines automatically. Also, you need to realize that without those machines you won’t be able to purchase ammo or other goodies, so saving bullets for better occasions is advised. If it’s possible to melee kill enemies – do that without any doubt. To save the situation a bit you should definitely loot any possible container for ammo and other goodies. This is the only way to survive longer in Bioshock Infinite.

It might be a good idea to use your sniper rifle and take down enemies from the distance. This should help you to avoid any direct contact with the foes and will keep you safe from their melee attacks. Though, their shots from machine guns might get dangerous as well, even when being shot from the distance. As for the gear, here’s what I would recommend to ease your pain. By the way – you can change it from the pause menu.
Head: Ammo capacity, Storm or Quick Handed.
Shorts: Pyro, Blood to Salt or Scavenger Vest.
Pants: Last man Standing or Urgent Care.
Boots: Kill to Live or Vampire's Embrace.
Also, try to find as many Infusions Bottles as possible. This will help you to survive a lot longer (after proper investment, of course).
In general, your fighting strategy should be as careful as possible. Don’t risk where there is no need to and do not do stupid things. Move carefully, clear every location by killing enemies from the distance, use any possible environmental hazards to help you out, drop enemies from the edges, use melee attacks to save ammo and remember not to waste bullets cause this can turn out to be a disaster. In everything else – you are free to create your own fighting strategies and act the way you feel comfortable.
Though, I would like to share some strategies on fighting some bosses. This won’t totally solve the problem but will definitely make it as easy as possible and that means a lot in 1999 Mode.

Fighting Handyman
Handymen are giant human-robotic enemies with big arms and big hearts. The weakest part of every Handyman is its heart, so it is highly recommended to concentrate your precise shooting on the beating power. But to make your shooting even more effective, here’s a gear recommended in fighting with those giants:

Gear
Hat: either Sheltered Life, that will make you immune for any kind of damage when you restore your health with food or health packs, or Hill Runner’s Hat that increase movement speed when the shied is down.
Jacket: Shock Jacket gives you a 50% chance to shock for 2 seconds when stuck.
Pants: Head Master increased critical hit damage by 50%;
Boots: Handyman Nemesis increased Handyman damage by 50% and, of course, when fighting Handyman this is more than just useful.

Weapon:
While in most cases I would recommend to use a sniper rifle (and, of course, you still can), a Shotgun works great as well. But you do understand that using a shotgun means that you will have to fight in close combat with the Handyman. It might get tricky but if you attack during the Murder of Crows effect, you shouldn’t have any problems. Just remember to dodge and move around as often as possible.

Vigors:
In most cases I used Murder of Crows. It keeps the Handyman occupied for a few seconds and makes him very vulnerable at this point exposing his heart for your precise shooting. In combination with the Handyman Nemesis Boots you will take down the foe pretty quick.

Strategy:
When you see a Handyman (or he spots you), use the Murder of Crows vigor on him. This will make the enemy to pause for a couple of seconds distracted by the crows. Well, it is a perfect moment to strike, so come as close as possible and shoot twice in Handyman’s heart. Get back a little and then send another flock of crows on him and shoot two more rounds in his heart. Evade and use this pause to reload your shotgun. Repeat the procedure mentioned as many times as necessary until the Handyman falls down dead. If during the battler the Handyman reaches you after all and hits you with his melee attack, a perfect combination of Shock Jacket and Hill Runner’s Hat should save the situation.

Fighting Lady Comstock

Gear:
Hat: either Sheltered Life, that will make you immune for any kind of damage when you restore your health with food or health packs, or Hill Runner’s Hat that increase movement speed when the shied is down.
Jacket: Shock Jacket gives you a 50% chance to shock for 2 seconds when stuck.
Pants: Angry Stompers allow you to deal 2x damage when you get really low on health and trust me – that is going to happen pretty often.
Boots: Tunnel Vision increases your aiming by 20% and hip firing decreases damage by 20%.

Weapons:
Depending on your strategy and location, you will have to fight the enemy either from the distance or in close combat. So, it is recommended to use both a Shotgun and a Sniper Rifle.

Vigor:
Shock Jockey projects electrical charges and will stun the enemy opening a window for a strike.

Strategy:
At the very beginning of the battle Lady Comstock won’t be such a dangerous enemy as the resurrected dead will be. So, it is recommended to leave the woman for desert and concentrate your attention on the weaker enemies. Your next fighting strategy is rather simple but happens to be effective and this is exactly what we need. Use your Shock Jockey on resurrected dead and when under the effect, shoot them with your Sniper Rifle (aiming for the head, of course). The trick is that if you kill the resurrected dead while they are under the influence of the Shock Jockey vigor, Lady Comstock won’t be able to resurrect them again. If you see Lady Comstock getting really close to you, take out your gun and shoot her for a couple of times. This will make her to retreat. Once you’re done killing the resurrected dead, Lady Comstock will start following you around and will use an area of effect attack. Try to avoid this attack as strong as possible and when you have a good window – shoot the lady. Repeat this strategy until the woman is dead.

Completing the Final Scene
Songbird is a 30-foot winged creature, very powerful and very scary. Fighting it won’t be easy. So, here’s what you might need to make things easier and win the final fight with honor.

Gear:
Of course, it might be anything you find through the natural progression but the items mentioned below have actually made everything a lot easier.
Hat: Sheltered Life Hat allows you to stay invulnerable when gaining health from snacks and health kits. There is nothing more useful than that.
Shirt: Pyromaniac gives you a 50% chance to burn nearby enemies. At the same time your enemies take 400% damage over three seconds which is totally insane.
Pants: Urgent Care increases shield recharge rate by 2x and also decreases shield recharge delay by 1 second. In the final battled every single second is vitally important.
Boots: Overkill gives you the following abilities: if you kill someone with excessive damage, it will stun the nearby enemies giving you a lot better opportunity to strike again take a lot less risk for their counterattack.

Weapons:
Well, it’s all up to you as long as it deals heavy damage to your enemies.

Vigors:
Again – this is all up to you but I’ve found Murder of Crows and Possession the most effective vigors in the last fight.
You might be surprised, but Murder of Crows was not upgraded even once but still worked great in setting traps and weakening enemies in large packs. Of course, you can invest money in making it better but if you do not have any or simply want to spend them on something else – don’t worry, Murder of Crows will still work great.
Now, as for Possession – it was upgraded with Possession Aid. This upgrade allows you to use your vigor on both robots and humans. Considering the fact that you will be dealing with both, this makes some decent sense and will not only help you to feel yourself comfortable during the fight, but will also help you to get the whole group of enemies to fight on your side.

Should Auld Acquaintance....jpgShould Auld Acquaintance... (10)
Unlocked 1999 mode.

In order to unlock 1999 you will have to get back in time and in the Main Menu type the good old Konami combination. Shortly after the code is entered, you will get a prompt saying that you cheat code has been accepted and now you can show how great your gaming skills are. So, here’s the code itself (remember to press the buttons in the exact same order mentioned below):
On the D-pad press: Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right “B” and “A”.

Industrial Accident.jpgIndustrial Accident (5)
Killed 20 enemies with a Sky Hook Execution.

It is very unlikely for you to miss this achievement unless you kill enemies instantly and from long distances. Almost at the very beginning of your sky journey you are going to obtain a Sky Hook. Being used as a tool, Sky Hook helps you to travel the sky rails and get from one part of the floating city to the other pretty fast. But, when on the ground, it can also be used as a melee weapon and, I have to say, pretty good and reliable melee weapon.
But, before you start swinging with your Sky Hook as with your sword, you need to remember one thing: in order to unlock this achievement you are not supposed to melee kill your enemies – this won’t count as an execution. What you really have to do is to drag your enemy’s health to the lowest possible point. When your opponent will be one or two hits away from dying, a Skull Icon should appear notifying you about the possibility to execute him/her with your Sky Hook. In order to perform the execution move itself, you will have to press and hold the “Y” button. Hold it until the execution animation begins and comes to the end (trust me – it looks awesome). By all means, dealing with heavily-armored enemies will take more time and it is recommended to combine both fire weapons and melee attacks to get things done faster.
Unlocking “Industrial Accident” achievement can be completed through your natural progression but if you want to have it faster, you can use the good-old kill and reload method. Start playing the game from a checkpoint, find a few bad guys (the easier they are to kill – the faster you are going to unlock this achievement) and execute them with your Sky Hook. When you’re done – simply reload from the checkpoint and repeat what you’ve done before the required number of times. Yes, all your executions are summed up and if you performed (for example) 3 executions on your first load, when you start playing from that checkpoint once again, you will get the 4th, 5th and 6th executions correspondingly. It is highly recommended to go for this achievement as soon as possible when your enemies are still easy to kill. By the way: I managed to unlock it right after I saved Elizabeth through my natural progression and there was no need in save/load tricks.

Aerial Assassin.jpgAerial Assassin (5)
Killed 20 enemies with a Sky-Line Strike.

It appears that Sky Lines can be used not only for getting from one part of the city to the other quickly but also for killing weaker enemies if they happen to be walking nearby. When on the Sky Line, just keep traveling from one place to the other until you see an enemy in front of you. Wait for Booker Dewitt to slide closer to him and when he appears to be really close – press the “A” button for a Sky-Line Strike. This action will likely kill any weaker enemy instantly. Though, you might wanna be careful with the heavier fellows. Perform this kind of action 19 more times (20 in total) and collect your 5G points. By the way, if you do not want to walk around and search for the bad guys standing on the right spots, here’s what can be done:
- Load the Chapter that goes under the name “Comstock Center Rooftops” (it happens to be near the very first magnetic hook section);
- Make your way to the location you are supposed to go;
- After you jump to the last hook – look on the ground and you should see an enemy right below the Sky-Lines;
- This a perfect opportunity to go for the achievement mentioned;
- Aim for the bad guy and when you find yourself close enough to him – press the “A” button to perform a Sky-Line Strike;
- When done – reload the game from a checkpoint and repeat everything described above;
- After you do that for at least 20 times – you will get the pop up message.

A Real Pistol.jpgA Real Pistol (5)
Killed 25 enemies with the Broadsider Pistol.

Unlocking this achievement should not be a complicated thing and you are very likely to get it through the natural progression. All you have to do is to kill enemies with the Broadsider Pistol. You can use any other possible weapon or fighting strategy beforehand but the last breath should be taken with a Pistol Bullet. If you have any difficulties killing enemies or locating a Broadsider Pistol, use either Murder of Crows or Shock Jockey vigor before shooting the target (or targets). Also, to make the killings easier, you can upgrade your gun. Broadsider Pistol’s maximum upgrade will cost you $1077.
Of you are not interested in walking around and unlocking this achievement the natural way, you can leave it all behind and try to complete things the other way round. Start from the checkpoint with pretty enough enemies to kill. Eliminate them with your Broadsider Pistol and when done – reload the checkpoint to repeat the killing scheme.

Passionately Reciprocated.jpgPassionately Reciprocated (5)
Killed 150 enemies with the Founder Triple R Machine Gun or Vox Repeater.

Through your natural progression you are very likely to use the Triple R or the Vox Repeater more than just often. These are great weapons that can take down enemies fast and effectively. By the way: if you want this achievement to become yours, you will have to pick one of the weapons mentioned. If I am not mistaken – it is not possible to unlock “Passionately Reciprocated” using both to kill 150 enemies. Well, at least it didn’t work for me. The best and the fastest way to complete the achievement mentioned is to combine both Vigor attacks and the Triple R or the Vox Repeater shooting. If you want to make your guns even more effective – do not forget to upgrade one of them (or both) to the possible maximum. Well, upgrading the Triple R Machine Gun will cost you $1375 while upgrading the Vox Repeater will take $1992 from your pocket.
Of course, you can use the save/reload checkpoint method in order to unlock this achievement but I am not sure that this is the way to go. First of all – killing 150 enemies is not killing 20 fellows. Also, you are very likely to unlock it through your natural progression. Though, there is one more method that will save the situation and will help to unlock the achievement. Just progress through the game until you reach the Memorial Gardens Chapter. In this area you are going to meet a Ghost boss that is not only hard to kill but also uses his powers to spawn enemies. Well, this is one of those times when spawning enemies can be used to your advantage. When the battle starts, concentrate on killing enemies with either your Triple R Machine Gun or Vox Repeater. At the same time – leave the Ghost Boss alone. Well, you can use suppressing fire to make things a bit more comfortable and less dangerous but still – do not kill the Ghost Boss! No, I’m serious – just don’t. Because the very same second you will kill the boss, he will stop spawning enemies. Plus, there is a certain limitation for every battle with the boss after all. Each time he will spawn around 50 enemies and when you kill them all – you will be able to progress further on. Oh, I’ve totally forgot to mention that there will be 3 fights with the Ghost Boss and each fight will spawn about 50 enemies making it 150 bad guys in total. So, as long as you keep the main guy alive and keep on using one of the weapons mentioned – you will very likely unlock this achievement by the end of your third fight. You can also use checkpoints to repeat the fights if necessary. One of the main reasons why I am offering this solution is that unlocking “Passionately Reciprocated” here will give you an opportunity to concentrate on unlocking other weapon related achievements through the game leaving more space for completing the whole list in one playthrough and as fast as possible.

Street Sweeper.jpgStreet Sweeper (5)
Killed 50 enemies with the Founder China Broom Shotgun or Vox Heater.

In order to unlock this achievement, you will have to use one of your Shotgun equivalents be it the Founder China Broom or the Vox Heater. Both shotguns can be improved with a certain number of upgrades. The whole set of upgrades for the Founder China Broom will cost you $1326 while the Vox Heater will force you to spend $2327 in total. Being a powerful weapon, killing 50 enemies with both shotguns won’t be a problem at all. Just on the contrary – they will make your way through almost any situation a lot easier. Also, when combined with Vigor attacks and other fighting strategy and tactics, you will very likely unlock “Street Sweeper” sooner than expected. By all means, it is recommended to use both shotguns at close range distances, especially when you make your way through the corridors or narrow passage and where enemies are likely to attack you rather from the close range than from the distance.

Big Game Hunter.jpgBig Game Hunter (5)
Killed 100 enemies with the Founder Huntsman Carbine or Vox Burstgun.

In order to unlock this achievement you will have to shoot 100 enemies with either the Founder Huntsman Carbine or Vox Burstgun. Both guns can be easily identified as M1A carbine equivalents due to the specifics of their working principles. Of course, as any other weapon, both guns can be improved with a few upgrades. But if you want to upgrade Founder Huntsman Carbine to the possible maximum, you will have to spend $1531 while upgrading the Vox Burstgun will cost you no less than $2340. As far as the specifics of this weapon identifies it as a range weapon, it is recommended to use it appropriately, shooting from middle range distances and higher.

Loose Cannon.jpgLoose Cannon (5)
Killed 25 enemies with the Paddywhacker Hand Cannon.

In order to unlock this achievement you will have to kill 25 enemies using Paddywhacker Hand Cannon. Paddywhacker Hand Cannon is also very often identified as the magnum pistol equivalent and has an amazing ability to kill enemies with style. You can upgrade it with some bonus features to the very maximum if you invest $1902 in the canon mentioned. The best way to use it is against weaker enemies: they won’t be able to stand the power of the gun and will die almost instantly. This achievement can be unlocked through your natural progression. However, there are a few methods that will make your task easier and will open an opportunity to unlock it faster.
For that matter you will need a few things and one of them, of course, is the Paddywhacker Hand Cannon. I am pretty sure that you will get it while exploring the world around but I am a good person and would like to share with you the precise location of the gun mentioned. Just before entering Plaza of Zeal, you will see a guy standing nearby. Talk to the guy and after a short conversation make sure you look on the table that should be right in front of him. On that very table you will find the Hand Cannon. This weapon can hold up to 6 cartridges in one round and Booker can carry with him at least 24 extra bullets. Of course, if you invest a few bucks in some upgrades, Booker will get an opportunity to carry even more ammo with him. When in the battle, it is recommended to combine using Paddywhacker Hand Cannon with the Shock Jokey vigor. This ability will stun the enemies and with the help of Hand Cannon you will have an opportunity to perform a few headshots.
Another great place to complete this achievement is the level where you will open the Tear to the alternative Columbia and by saying “tear” I mean the Quest. If you made it to the tear and entered it to start the quest, you will appear in the room. This is the very same room where you’ll find dead Chin. From here make your way upstairs to the prison. When out there, in one of the cells (the very first one to the left) there will be a Paddywhacker Hand Cannon with 27 bullets at your disposal. When you pick up all the ammunition, make your way back through the projector room. Once you get on the stage (and this is important) you will be ambushed by about 6 or 7 enemies. Deal with them using your newly obtained Paddywhacker Hand Cannon. It will take no more than two shots to take down an enemy or just one shot if you aim for the head. When you kill them all, talk to Elizabeth and from here you can either move to the next location or press the “Menu” button and restart from the checkpoint. First of all – it will help you to unlock the achievement faster, secondly – you won’t run out of ammo and thirdly – you will be aware of the ambush and those fellows won’t scare you at all. Plus, it should take from 4 to 5 playthrough to complete the task which shouldn’t take more than a few minutes. As a pleasant bonus, on your way back to the stage, you can enter the room with lots of carbines in it and, certainly, go for another achievement also known as “Big Game Hunter”.

On a Clear Day....jpgOn a Clear Day... (5)
Killed 30 enemies with the Bird's Eye Sniper Rifle.

Bird's Eye Sniper Rifle is definitely a long range weapon and should be used to take down enemies from the distance. Well, as long as you are not supposed to kill the bad fellows with the headshots, you can pretty much unlock it by simply shooting in any part of the body as long as it kills the guy. Though, aiming for the head will make a lot more sense being a powerful and amazingly effective way to send someone to the dead. Bird's Eye Sniper Rifle can be acquired from Elizabeth when you both reach the Hall of Heroes plaza. With the rifle mentioned you will be shooting back at the enemy snipers. The very same moment you take down 30 targets – you will get the pop up message saying that you’ve unlocked the achievement. Also, to make the Bird's Eye Sniper Rifle even more effective, you should spend a few bucks and upgrade it to the possible maximum. In order to do that you will have to spend $1640.
As well as with any other weapon, you can use checkpoint and save/load method to rush the achievement and get it as fast as possible. Probably, the very same location where you acquire the rifle will be a perfect place for taking down targets and unlocking “On a Clear Day...” achievement. Though, it is not obligatory. On the top of that while going for this achievement, you can attempt to unlock the other one known as “Bolt From the Blue.” It requires you to kill 5 enemies with a headshot while riding a Sky Line. It might get tricky when using a scope but if you aim for the head on some steady and straight parts of the Sky Line, you are very likely to get things done properly.

Here Little Piggy.jpgHere Little Piggy (5)
Killed 30 enemies with the Founder Pig Volley Gun or Vox Hail Fire.

In order to unlock this achievement you will have to kill at least 30 enemies with either Pig volley or Hail Fire. Both weapons can also be treated as fair 1912 year equivalents for M75 grenade launcher. Considering the weapons specifics, I am pretty sure that you are not likely to have any problems completing this achievement fast and effectively. Both Founder Pig Volley Gun and Vox Hail Fire work effectively in combination with different abilities and on the top of that you can upgrade your guns to the possible maximum and make them even more powerful than they are right now. For that matter you will need $2320 to upgrade Founder Pig Volley Gun and $2190 to improve the Vox Hail Fire.
While this achievement can be unlocked through your natural progression, you can rush for the achievement and unlock it in the “Good Time Club” area in Fink Industries. After you kill your very first Handyman, you will be able to enter the location mentioned. Now, to the very left from the stage you are going to find a Tear with the Founder Pig Volley Gun. Almost the very same moment you pick up the gun, watch for the curtain on the stage. They will rise revealing 6 fellows that will start approaching you instantly. Well, use your gun to take them down and after these 6 guys are dead – restart from the checkpoint and do the very same thing again. It should take no more than 5 restarts to hit the 30 kill mark.

Master of Pyrotechnics.jpgMaster of Pyrotechnics (5)
Killed 20 enemies with the Barnstormer RPG.

In order to unlock this achievement you are supposed to kill 20 enemies with the Barnstormer RPG. The Barnstormer RPG is a 1912 mechanical equivalent for a real rocket launcher. Taking down enemies with this monster won’t be a problem at all. However, you might wanna upgrade the Barnstormer RPG to make it even more powerful. For that matter you’ll need $1919. Using this weapon against weaker enemies will make you closer to the targeted achievement because with this power a single shot will kill them instantly. By the way – if it’s possible, try shooting at the group of enemies. Considering the power – shooting in the middle of the group is very likely to take down at least 3 weaker enemies. The only issue you might have is the ammo as far as you won’t be able to carry more than a few rockets with you.
For that matter you might be interested in unlocking this achievement using the save/load method but first of all – you will have to find the Barnstormer RPG itself. A perfect place from completing the achievement happens to be in the Good Time Club. Get inside and make your way upstairs through the door. When inside the room, you are very likely to find the required RPG to your left. After you pick it up, a few enemies should appear from behind the curtain. Take them down using your newly obtained “instant killer.” After you’re done – go to the “Main Menu” and restart the game from your last checkpoint. This will help to unlock the achievement almost instantly. By the way – killing machines will also count as killing enemies and will be added to the total number of kills performed by the Barnstormer RPG.

Seasoned to Taste.jpgSeasoned to Taste (5)
Killed 30 enemies with the Peppermill Crank Gun.

The Peppermill Crank Gun is nor a regular weapon and is dropped by the Motorized Patriot also known as the Mechanical George Washington. The Peppermill Crank Gun can also be treated as a 1912 alternative for the Gatling Gun. Though, you can carry it with you meaning that the powers of thousands bullets will always guide and secure you through any possible troubles. So, to unlock this achievement you will have to kill at least 30 enemies. This shouldn’t be a problem, especially if you plan to use both firearms and abilities in your fights. In good traditions of Bioshock Infinite, you are going to run into a big enough group of enemies almost the very same moment you obtain your very first Peppermill Crank Gun. By all means take care of this group and, if you feel like completing this achievement as soon as possible, use the save/load method to run into the same group of enemies again and deal with them for a few times. If you want to get back in time and complete the achievement, the best place to do that is either in Chapter 8 (Hall of Heroes Gift Shop) or Chapter where you are supposed to fight the First Siren. When playing Chapter 8, you won’t be forced to kill your first Motorized Patriot and on the spot where it was supposed to appear, you will simply find the gun itself. Now, progress through the game and fight the approaching enemies. As for the Chapter with your first Siren, a tear for a crank gun will be on the elevated section of the back wall. After you pick up the gun – rush into the fight and deal with the upcoming enemies. You can reload this part of the game from the checkpoint if you find it convenient and comfortable to play.

Well Rounded.jpgWell Rounded (10)
Used all 8 Vigors against enemies.

While the action and shooting part in Bioshock Infinite is simply amazing, Bioshock wouldn’t be a Bioshock in its actual meaning without the special abilities also known in this game as Vigors. All in all there are 8 Vigors at your disposal and you are very likely to find and obtain them through your natural progression. On the top of that, some of the Vigors are story related and can’t be missed while others can be unlocked or purchased via “Veni! Vidi! Vigor!” machines. I, personally, unlocked the whole 8 without even trying and through my natural playthrough. Here's the list of all 8 vigors available in the game. For a lot more detailed information, please check "Bioshock Infinite: The List of Bioshock Vigors ("Well Rounded" Achievement)" post.

- Possession
- Devil’s Kiss
- Murder of Crows
- Bucking Bronco
- Shock Jockey
- Charge
- Undertow
- Return to Sender

Vigorous Opposition.jpgVigorous Opposition (50)
Killed 75 enemies either with a Vigor or while the enemy is under the effects of a Vigor.

As you already know, there are 8 different Vigors at your disposal. You can use either one of them, a few of them or as many as you can simultaneously to unlock this achievement. Your task is to kill 75 enemies while using a Vigor. It should come to you through your natural progression. Probably, the biggest advice here is to use your Vigors in those locations and conditions when they suit the most. Also, the good news is that your enemies do not actually have to be killed with the Vigor (but that also counts) but can also be under its influence. For example, one of the most effective ways to get things done is to use Shock Jockey or Murder of Crows. Both vigors will keep the bad guys occupied (one will stun then and other will make them wave their hands while fighting with the crows) and until their effect fades out – use your fire weapon, melee weapon or even vigors to your liking and kill those fellows. The very same moment you reach 75 kills – you will get the pop up message saying that you’ve unlocked the achievement.

More for Your Money.jpgMore for Your Money (25)
Lured 3 enemies into a single Vigor trap 5 times.

As a matter of fact, it happens to be a lot easier than you expect. Your task is to lure 3 enemies into a single trap and then repeat this strategy for 4 more times making it 5 in total. Though, these should not be the very same 3 enemies lured into the very same trap 5 times in a row. But, if you manage to do that – be my guest and show your best.
Now, in order to set a trap, you should press the “LT” button and hold it until a trap icon appears. After that choose a spot where to place the trap and release the “LT” button. Some of the most suitable vigors for this matter are Murder of Crows and Devil's kiss. Probably, Murder of Crows is even the best. But no matter how great the vigor, you will still have to find at least 3 enemies to complete this achievement. When you find yourself in a suitable location with 3 enemies moving in a group, set the trap in their way and either hide to avoid being shot or step back from the trap a bit. When your foes run into the trap, it will count as +1 towards your achievement. Well, here you can either restart from the checkpoint and repeat the very same action at least 4 times or progress through the game and just keep on setting traps luring enemy trios into them. When you’re done, the pop up message will appear on your monitor notifying you about the successfully unlocked achievement.
To make thing a bit easier, you can use Undertow to push enemies into your traps. Also, you should try to set two traps in one place so that both traps are activated simultaneously by your enemies. It should count as +2 towards your achievement which is kind of nice. Another interesting idea on unlocking this achievement is to use Murder of Crows trap with the “Storm” hat from your gear.
As for locations, really, there is a plenty of those all over the floating Columbia. If you want to unlock this early in the game, do that in the Hall of Hero’s. There will be a door with 3 enemies hiding behind it. Set your Murder of Crows Vigor trap right in front of the doors and lure the bad guys into it. When done, restart form the checkpoint and repeat your strategy.
Here’s another location and another Vigor that can be used to set a trap and move towards the achievement. For that matter you will need to load “The Atrium” Chapter. Set the trap right in front of your starting point. Bucking Bronco worked great for me here but it can be anything as long as it can set decent traps. After you’re done, run directly in the middle of the room and wait for the alarm to go off. When it does, at least 3 enemies will start chasing you. When you see them running after you, run back to the hall and let them step into your trap. Well, restart from the checkpoint and repeat it 4 more times.
This, probably, is the easiest way to unlock the “More for Your Money” achievement as far as enemies will lure themselves into the trap. For that matter load the mission with the “Good Time Club” in Fink Industries (you are supposed to enter this location right after you finish your very first Handyman). Set a trap in the middle of the stage right in front of the curtains (which trap – it’s all up to you but Murder of Crows worked great for me) and step back or side behind something. When the curtain rises up and at least 6 enemies get on the stage, they will get into the trap and will make you closer to the desired achievement. Wait for its effect to end and reload this mission from the checkpoint to repeat your strategy. This place can also be used for unlocking lots of other achievements especially those connected with the Volley Gun and RPG as far as there are tears with both guns inside. Though, any achievement that is somehow connected with killing enemies can be unlocked here.

Combination Shock.jpgCombination Shock (50)
Performed all 8 of the Vigor combinations.

Unlocking this achievement is rather simple. The only thing you need to keep in mind is that you will have to have all the 8 Vigors in your hands. You are not supposed to have them all at the same time but completing “Combination Shock” will be available only after completing “Well Rounded” achievement which requires you to gather the whole set of 8 Vigors. As for the achievement itself, here are just a few simple rules that should make things a lot easier:
- make sure you switch between Vigors fast;
- you need to strike enemy with the second Vigor before he dies (otherwise – it won’t count);
- make sure that the next vigor you switch to is the exact vigor you want to use.
The good thing is that if you are doing it right, the achievement tracker will pop out every time you kill your enemy the way you should. And now – the list of Vigor combinations:
1. Possession and Shock Jockey;
2. Possession and Devil's Kiss;
3. Devil's Kiss and Charge;
4. Murder of Crows and Devil's Kiss;
5. Murder of Crows and Shock Jockey;
6. Bucking Bronco and Devil's Kiss;
7. Bucking Bronco and Charge;
8. Undertow and Shock Jockey.
In order to equip other Vigors, you should press and hold the “LB” button. If you want to see Vigor Combinations in action, please, check out the video below.

Mind Over Matter.jpgMind Over Matter (10)
Killed 20 enemies using Possessed machines.

Possession is the very first Vigor you are going to obtain and it will come to your through your natural progression. However, you need to remember that it works on machines only and won’t affect people (at least – in its first stage). Your task is to find either a turret or a machine or anything else that is not alive, possess it and make it kill at least 20 enemies. Of course, you are not supposed to do that with a single machine only and your kill results will be summed up. There are lots of options telling you where and how you can use Possession. Probably, one of the most advised and profitable ways to use this vigor is against Mosquitoes. Mosquitoes are the floating machine guns held aloft by balloons. They are kind of hard to reach and will cause you some trouble. When under Possession effect, they will turn on your side and will shoot the bad guys from above in all the possible directions.
As for me, I personally unlocked this achievement in chapter “Raffle Square.” It is pretty easy to play and has a great option for unlocking this achievement. So, when you load the mission, progress through the level and make your way through the raffle section by killing the approaching enemies. When it’s safe – go round the back of the stage. There you will find a turret. Use Possession to take it under your control and it will automatically start stacking all the possible enemies that come in its sight, though – there will be 4 or 5 of them. To make things easier and go faster, it is recommended to shoot those fellows in the legs. This will prevent them from moving fast and hiding behind obstacles giving your possessed turret a lot more time to concentrate on killing. When your turret is either destroyed by the enemies or yourself after it gets out from the possession effect, move forward and a little further you are going to see another turret. Do the very same thing with this one and let it kill as many enemies as possible. When both turrets are down and you are still not getting the pop up message, simply reload from the checkpoint and repeat everything mentioned above or simply progress through the game and Possess every mechanical creature that can kill enemies. Rather sooner than later you should unlock “Mind Over Matter” achievement.

Tear 'em a New One.jpgTear 'em a New One (25)
Opened 30 Tears.

Tears can also be referred to as portals and Elizabeth will be in charge of opening those portals for you. The number of useful things these are good for is rather unlimited. They can be used for getting extra ammo, recover health or even bring combatants to support you in the battle. The last one will help you to obtain “Strange Bedfellows” achievement. You are very likely to unlock this achievement through your natural progression because, technically, you are not supposed to do a lot: simply search for glowing lights and come closer to them. When you are near, Elizabeth will open a Tear and something special will spawn from it.
One of the best locations to unlock this achievement is to visit the Hall of fames which is Chapter 8. You will find a plenty of Tears there. Also, another great option is right before the boss fight with slate. For more details you can check out the video below.

Strange Bedfellows.jpgStrange Bedfellows (10)
Killed 20 enemies using allies brought in through a Tear.

You will have more than enough options to unlock this achievement through your natural progression. However, one of the best options is at the checkpoint when you leave the Hall of Heroes (and shortly after you obtain the Shock Jockey vigor). The Chapter you want to complete this achievement in is called “Return to Hall of Heroes.” Here, among other Tears, you will find one with the Mosquito inside. Mosquitos are floating turrets that, however, are not very tough but still can provide pretty decent cover and make things easier for you. Besides, its location allows the Mosquito to shoot enemies from above and cover pretty wide territory without any problems.
Probably, the best timing for completing this achievement is between Slate's men and Comstock's men fighting. By all means, you can help the turret out and send a few bullets in each enemy making it weaker. The only thing to remember here is that your shots can’t be vital, otherwise – killing a foe won’t count towards your achievement. If the bad guys destroy the Mosquito, hide on the balcony and wait for it to recover. This shouldn’t take more than a few seconds. You can also unlock it while playing the 1999 mode.

On The Fly.jpgOn the Fly (10)
Killed 30 enemies while riding a Sky-Line.

This achievement will very likely come to you through your natural progression. Your task is rather simple: you need to kill 30 enemies while riding a Sky Line. It doesn’t matter what weapon or vigor you are using as long as your Sky Hook is attached to the Sky Line. To make things a bit easier, you can simply press and hold the Right Analog Button. This will slow Booker down giving you a better chance for a lot more precise shot. As a greater part of Bioshock Infinite achievements, you can also use the save\load method to get the achievement faster.
One of the best places to get things done is to load the “Command Deck” Chapter. First of all – there is a Sky Line that circles the entire area. Secondly – there will be multiply weak enemies that happen to be pretty easy to kill. So, all you have to do is to hook yourself to the Sky Line and circle around the area by shooting off the enemies. After you’re done – restart from the checkpoint and do the very same the required number of times to kill 30 enemies.
Another great place to unlock this achievement is in the Shantytown Police area. After you survive the battle and enter the Police station area, there will be 4 enemies waiting for you together with lots of Sky Lines going across the location. Well, all you have to do is to hook yourself to the Sky Line and start “rolling” around taking down the bad guys with either your weapon or vigors. By the way – do not forget to check out a high platform right above the entrance to the police station. Here you will find more than 15 enemies chilling out. I am pretty sure you know what to do next. In order to make things even easier, Elizabeth will open a Tear for you with a sniper rifle in it. By all means, pick it up and use it to take down enemies with comfort but do not forget to slow down your character for better aiming and a lot more effective shooting. Also, you can use this place to unlock another achievement that goes under the name “Bolt From the Blue” which required you to kill 5 enemies with a headshot while riding a Sky Line. Check the achievement below for details.

Bolt from the Blue.jpgBolt From the Blue (25)
Killed 5 enemies with a headshot while riding a Sky-Line.

In order to unlock this achievement you will have to take down 5 enemies with a headshot while riding the Sky Line. The trick of this achievement is that both you and your enemies will be moving:
- you, attached to a Sky Line with a hook;
- them running on the ground and shooting at you (or riding the very same Sky Line).
By all means, the best way to unlock this achievement is to use a sniper rifle. I hope you understand that keeping the formula below won’t make things easy:
You Moving + Them Moving + Shooting in the Head + shooting with a scope = a total disaster
Luckily, things are not as bad as they sound. First of all – you can make your character ride a lot slower by pressing and holding the “LS” button. Moving with a lot slower speed should open you a perfect window for a lot better aiming. But, there is also a method that will literary make all the bad influence from moving go away. All you have to do is to find a place where the Sky Line is blocked. This will make Booker stop and aim for the bad guys from a steady position and there is nothing better than a good sniper spot with the steadiest surrounding ever. Also, in this position you won’t be forced to hold the “LS” button.
As for the proper location, it can be almost any area as long as you have a sniper rifle. As for me, I’ve found it very comfortable to go for this achievement almost immediately after the Hall of Heroes. When you get outside, you are very likely to see a few guys standing outside. Well, the best part is that they are far enough not to injure you with the return fire but also close enough if you use a sniper rifle and shoot them via the scope. The only thing to remember here is that you need to aim for the head and if there is no health bar above the enemy’s head – you won’t be able to kill him. So, just move along the Sky Line to find a proper spot.
Another great spot for completing this achievement is in Chapter 24: Bullyard. But before you start travelling the Sky Line and killing enemies with headshots, do not forget to take down a few turrets. If you don’t get enough kills – simply restart the checkpoint. Also, you can combine this achievement with unlocking the one mentioned above where you are supposed to kill 30 enemies while riding a Sky Line aka “On the Fly.”

Hazard Pay.jpgHazard Pay (25)
Killed 10 enemies by utilizing environmental hazards.

Floating Columbia is a dangerous place by default. And what you expected to get from a city drifting in the sky? On the top of that all around Columbia you are going to see lots of water puddles, oil slicks and firework barrels. All these items can be used to kill enemies. The number of places where you can unlock this achievement is kind of unlimited. Simply search for those environmental hazards, decoy you enemies into them and with the help of vigors make deadly traps. Of course, water puddles work the best in combination with electricity, oil slicks will become deadly in pair with fire and firework barrels will detonate if you use anything on them that can set things on fire.
Now, your task is to kill at least 10 enemies by utilizing environmental hazards. No matter the hazard you choose or even if you choose to use all of them, your kills will be summed up and added to the final count. After all – killing 10 enemies should not be a problem and is very likely to come to you naturally as long as you know what to do with the puddles or oil slicks. By the way – here’s a very good location to unlock this achievement. Right after Shock Jockey becomes available, you will enter a Chamber and there will be two fellows acting pretty hostile and by saying “pretty hostile” I mean them running at you for melee attack. They are not armed with any fire weapon which means that you shouldn’t be afraid to get any damage from the distance. On their way to you both guys will run into water. So, just wait for them to step into it and charge with the Shock Jockey. After you kill them – simply reload your game from the last checkpoint and do the very same thing for 4 more times to make it 10 in total. But, of course, if you are simply progressing through the game and just keep on utilizing environmental hazards once in a while, you will get it naturally soon.

Bon Voyage.jpgBon Voyage 25
Killed 20 enemies by knocking them off Columbia.

In order to complete this achievement you should use your Undertow vigor. The main principle of doing things right is rather simple: find an enemy standing as close to the edge as possible and hit him with Undertow. You can also combine this strategy with other vigors to make things flow easier. For instance – shoot the legs to slow down the enemy and aim for him to drop over the edge. By all means do not forget to be careful and not to drop yourself off the edge. Another interesting combination to complete this achievement is to use both Bucking Bronco and Undertow vigors but their effectiveness will be rather costly considering the idea of using two vigors one after the other.
While floating Columbia is a dangerous city, you can’t walk around and drop people anywhere you want (unfortunately). But, for that matter there is a great number of places and killing 20 enemies by knocking them off the city shouldn’t be an issue. Besides, you can always use the good old save/load and restart method to rush the achievement. So, one of the greatest places to complete “Bon Voyage” achievement is at the end of Chapter 28: Factory (the one where you have to help Elizabeth) or at the end of Chapter 38: Hangar Deck (when fighting on the airship). If that is not enough, try to load Chapter “Hand of the Prophet.” It is rather short and one of the tasks here will be to board several gunships with 2 or 3 enemies on each. Attach yourself to the gunship's hook > dismount > use Undertow vigor to push all the enemies off. If you are low on salt, check out the gunship's deck to collect some.

Skeet Shoot.jpgSkeet Shoot (25)
Killed 5 enemies while they are falling.

This achievement can be unlocked in different ways:
- you can drop someone from the edge using Undertow and then shoot them when they are falling;
- you can drop enemies from the Sky Line when riding it and then shoot them why they are falling;
- you can use your Bucking Bronco vigor to life the enemies up and then kill them with the fire weapon.
By all means, the last one option with the Bucking Bronco is the easiest and the most effective because you are not dependent on any surrounding conditions. So, after you obtain the vigor, find your very first victim (it has to be an enemy that can be lifted in the air) and use your ability on him (them). Though, don’t shoot the bad guys while they are in the air. Aim a bit lower than their bodies are floating and wait for the vigor to lose its influence. Only when the bodies start falling – shoot the fellows. The best way to kill the bad guys is with the help of a shotgun or a machine gun.

Lost Weekend.jpgLost Weekend (10)
Killed 5 enemies while you are drunk.

Completing this achievement is rather simple as long as you have enough alcohol. Unfortunately, consuming just one bottle won’t be enough to get drunk and for that matter you will need at least 3. So, it is highly advised to skip the part when you search for alcohol during the fight and do that beforehand. Probably, the best place to do that is in a bar or at any other place where people keep the brew. One of the biggest challenges of killing enemies while being drunk is that your vision goes pretty blurry making it harder to aim. Well, this is THE moment where you should turn to your magic powers like Murder of Crows. For the moment this vigor keeps the bad guys occupied, you can shoot them or use the environment to your advantage. Also, setting traps and luring enemies into them might work as well. After all, no one says that you are supposed to use something in particular: be creative and mix your fire weapon with vigors in any possible effective way.
One of the fastest and earliest ways to unlock this achievement is almost at the very beginning of the game, after you enter the founder’s lodge. When you find yourself in the building, make your way to the main hall and after that turn left. Right now you are supposed to find yourself in a bar and we all are aware of the fact that bars are known for alcohol. There will be a plenty of drinks, so – get drunk and kill 3 enemies that will appear right away. You can get drunk again and progress through the mission or simply restart from the checkpoint and repeat what I’ve described above.
If for any possible reason you are having troubles completing this achievement in the location mentioned above, here’s another one that should help you to get the desired 10G points of reward. The possibility to unlock “Lost Weekend” achievement will come to you naturally after you get the Magnetic Shield vigor. After a short video stops rolling, go ahead and enter the bar. If you did everything right, inside the building you should see a staircase in the middle and 2 big rooms to your right (the one on the left has a bar and the one on the right has a few tables inside). From this point you will have to enter the “Bar” room, now – turn left and there will be a guy sitting on a chair and another guy walking towards him. I know that you have a great temptation to kill them both but at this moment this is not the best time, so just run past them and get behind the bar as soon as possible and crouch to avoid being spotted. Here you will find 4 or 5 bottles of wine, whiskey, beer and else. I know that in a real life mixing those drinks will turn into a total disaster but in the game you will simply get blurry image. So, get yourself drunk by consuming at least 3 bottles. At the end of the bar there will be a man sitting in a chair. As you move behind the bar he will definitely spot you. So, kill him with your machine gun (being drunk, of course). The other 3 fellows present in the room will definitely hear you making trouble. So, expose yourself and kill them all either with a machine gun or use the Murder from Crows first to make them stop approaching you and then shoot with whatever gun you have. If they are close enough – shotgun will work just great. You’ve probably noticed that there are only 4 enemies in the room and yes, this means that you will be forced to either restart from the checkpoint (which is highly recommended) or progress further on and find another place where you can get drunk and unlock this achievement.

David & Goliath.jpgDavid & Goliath (10)
Killed 20 "Heavy Hitter" enemies.

So called “Heavy Hitters” are the heavy enemies that you will come across during your natural progress. For that matter, in the list of Heavy Hitters you are going to see the following personalities:
- Motorized Patriot (these can be motorized Washingtons and/or Lincolns);
- Fireman (these enjoy playing with fire, throwing fire and setting everything on fire);
- Handyman (Handymen are human robots (more robots than human) with giants hands and giants hearts);
- Sirens (probably, the most annoying Heavy Hitters in the game dressed in white. They enjoy floating around and are pretty hard to kill);
In order to unlock this achievement, just deal with every Heavy Hitter you come across (you are not obliged to take down only a certain kind of them – killing each will count as successful elimination). Though, you need to keep in mind that every Heavy Hitter is kind of a small boss and only being unique in your fighting strategy will let you win the fight. For example, Motorized Patriots do not like being stunned with electricity and Handyman’s weakest part of the body is his big heart.
If you are looking for a comfortable place to unlock this achievement, here’s a good one: in Finkton area you will come across your very first Handyman. It doesn’t matter what fighting strategy you are going to use as long as it hits his heart – you are good to go. When you kill the poor fellow, restart from the checkpoint and kill him a few more times. Well, 19 would be just perfect. The good thing is that you will appear right before the Handyman comes, so it won’t take long to rush the achievement and make it yours in 20 or so minutes.

Heartbreaker.jpgHeartbreaker (50)
Killed a Handyman by only shooting his heart.

If you’ve reached the Finkton area, there is a great possibility that you’ve already seen a Handyman. It is an amazingly big enemy with large hands and large heart. Well, it appears that Handyman’s heart is not only a beautiful part of his mechanical body but also happens to be the most vulnerable spot. In order to unlock this achievement you will have to kill at least one Handyman by shooting in his heart. As you can see yourself – this task is not as easy as it sounds because for completing it you are supposed to get 50G points which is a lot! Well, your basic goal here is more than simple: aim for the heart and keep on shooting. But, even if you accidently shoot Handyman not into his heart – this will destroy everything and you will be forced to either find another Handyman or restart from the checkpoint and deal with this one again. Here are a few tips that will make things easier for you:
- Upgrade the weapon you plan to kill a Handyman with to the possible maximum to deal more damage;
- Do not use any Vigors even if you are tempted to. They also deal damage meaning that it won’t count as a Heart Kill;
- Clear the area from all the other enemies, if any, to make it a one on one stand;
- Keep “Damage Over Time” effects off to lower your risk on hitting the Handyman beyond his heart;
As for the place, one of the best spots to complete the achievement is Chapter 18 but if any other place works better for you – please, be my guest and attempt to take down a Handyman there – no hard feelings). You can also try to snipe Handyman’s heart with a sniper rifle but it might get tricky because Handyman moves fast and also waves his hands making it harder to lock on the heart. But, with a perfect timing and some patience impossible is nothing. By the way – there is a glitched area where the sniping heart thing might work even better than you expect. For that matter load Plaza of Zeal location and make your way through the level, until you leave the Gunsmith for the first time. Now, visit the back shop and get a sniper rifle from there. From here make your way to the Sky Line and use your Sky Hook on the left side of the street in order to get to the balcony. Let him follow you up there (waiting might take a while) and once he appears near you on the balcony – jump of the balcony and get away. There is a great chance that due to his size and big hands a Handyman will stick on the balcony and basically won’t move. Find a proper sniping position, aim for the heart and send as many bullets as required to take the giant down and unlock the achievement.
On the top of that there is another great method that will unlock the achievement in no time and will make everything in here a lot easier. Here’s what you need to do:
- Find a Handyman (any location is great, including the very first time you are about to meet one in Finkton);
- Deal him as much damage as possible. The good news is that you are not obliged to aim for the heart: just keep on shooting until his life meter gets to the possible minimum of keeping him alive;
- Now, stop doing anything and simply let the Handyman kill you;
- After you respawn from the checkpoint, find a Handyman and shoot him in his heart, preferably with a shotgun. This will count as a Heart only kill and will unlock the achievement.

Dress for Success.jpgDress for Success (5)
Equipped a piece of Gear in all four slots.

Well, this is a totally new feature that I do not recall seeing in Bioshock or Bioshock 2. In Bioshock Infinite you will have 4 gear slots that will help you to add some extra bonuses to your character. This might be everything starting with damage output and going up to Vigor powers. All you have to do is to fill 4 gear slots with the appropriate items. For that matter you will need:
- Hat;
- Shirt;
- Pants;
- Boots.
As for the gears themselves, you will find them in Blue Boxes scattered all over the game. They are pretty hard to miss and you will come across a plenty of those through your natural progression. Though, the fastest way to unlock this achievement is to use the good old save/reload method. You see – gear from the Blue Boxes spawns randomly which means that you can get the whole set of 4 items from a single box. All you have to do is to find one, get what’s inside and then restart from the checkpoint to see what’s new in the box. It might take a while and you are very likely to get two hats in a row but with a few persistent restarts rather sooner than later you will get a hat, a shirt, a pair of pants and boots. When the whole set is on you – get ready to receive 5G points for dressing up. By the way – one of the first locations where you are supposed to find a blue box is at the Blue Ribbon bar.
Oh, I almost forgot: if you are one of the lucky gamers who purchased the Premium/Songbird Edition, there is almost nothing to worry about because you will start playing the game with 3 items already:
Hat: Extra! Extra!
Foot: Betrayal
Shorts: Bull Rush
Now, all you have to do is to find the last item to make the costume complete. Reach the already mentioned Blue Ribbon bar location and restart from the checkpoint as many times as possible until you get something to cover your Torso.
Also, those who happen to have the Season Pass edition – won’t be asked to go for the achievement mentioned because they will already start off playing with 4 exclusive gear pieces.

Kitted Out.jpgKitted Out (10)
Fully upgraded one weapon and one Vigor.

Getting this achievement is rather straightforward. All you have to do is to fully upgrade 1 weapon and 1 vigor. For that matter you will have to visit:
- Minuteman's Armory (for weapon);
- Veni! Vidi! Vigor! (for vigor).
Upgrading your abilities and weapons allows dealing higher damage or hit more targets with one charge (in case of vigors). Improving both weapons and vigors requires money so you might wanna search the area to get as many as possible in order to complete the upgrade in one set.
In order to upgrade weapon you will have to purchase the whole 4 stage line. Also, you won’t be able to fully upgrade any of your guns just at the beginning of the game but upgrades will become available through the natural progression. Also, the better the weapon – the higher the price you have to pay for it and they vary in $250-$850 price range. If you want to get this achievement as fast as possible, I would recommend to start with the Broadsider Pistol. It is the cheapest weapon for upgrades. Also, here’s the list of guns available for perfection. For more information you should check out the "Bioshock Infinite: Weapon and Vigor Upgrades (Kitted Out Achievement)" post.

- Broadsider Pistol
- Bird's Eye Sniper Rifle
- Founder Triple R Machine Gun
- Vox Repeater
- Paddywhacker Hand Cannon
- Founder Pig Volley Gun
- Vox Hail Fire
- Barnstormer RPG
- Founder China Broom Shotgun
- Vox Heater

As for the Vigors, there are 8 of them and each vigor has three stages two of which are upgradable. You won’t be able to upgrade all your vigors at the very beginning of the game, however – these upgrades will become available through your natural progression. Vigors can be modified via Veni! Vidi! Vigor! vending machines. As for the price ranges, they vary from $250 and up to $1,700 per upgrade. Here’s the list of vigors that can be upgraded:

- Possession
- Devil's Kiss
- Murder of Crows
- Bucking Bronco
- Shock Jockey
- Undertow
- Charge
- Return to Sender

The very same second you purchase 4 upgrades for at least one of your weapons and 2 upgrades for at least one of your Vigors, you will receive the pop up message notifying you about the successful achievement and 10G points for your efforts.

Raising the Bar.jpgRaising the Bar (10)
Upgraded one attribute (Health, Shield, or Salts) to its maximum level.

As you progress through the game, eventually you are going to come across a strange bottle. Well, this bottle is called “Infusion bottle” and can be used to upgrade one of your attributes which is Health, Shield and Salt. In order to unlock this achievement you will have to upgrade one of the attributes mentioned to the possible maximum. Choose whatever attribute you find is the most suitable for your game style and invest every Infusion bottle in it to make things go faster.
Now, in order to max an attribute you will have to invest 10 bottles in it. These bottles are pretty easy to spot marked with a big star. The very first one can be found at the Blue Ribbon bar. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to upgrade all attributes to the possible maximum because there are only 25 bottles available through one playthrough. Though, if you purchased Bioshock Infinite with the Season Pass package, you will have 30 bottles at your disposal. Usually, they can be found in side locations, behind the closed door and in the closed chests. You need to remember that while the game allows you to restart mission and search for missible collectibles like Voxophones or Kinetoscopes, you won’t be able to get back in time and search for the Infusion bottles. For that matter do not forget to check the “Infused with Greatness” achievement to find out where all the Infusion bottles can be found.

Infused with Greatness.jpgInfused with Greatness (25)
Collected every Infusion upgrade in a single game.

All in all there are 25 Infusion Bottles in the game and if you plan to complete this achievement, you will have to find them all in one playthrough. On the top of that you won’t be allowed to get back in time and search for the area again. Well, this is just something to keep in mind. For a lot more detailed guide on where to locate the Infusion Bottles, check the Bioshock Infinite Collectible Guide.

Sightseer.jpgSightseer (50)
Used all Telescopes and Kinetoscopes in the game.

All in all there are 37 Kinetoscopes and Telescopes in the game and your task is to locate them all. The Kinetoscopes look a lot like small TVs and will tell you short stories about the locations you are at. As for the Telescopes – they allow you to enjoy the landscapes and can be found outside on the streets. For a lot more detailed guide on where to locate all Telescopes and Kinetoscopes, check the Bioshock Infinite Collectible Guide.

The Roguish Type.jpgThe Roguish Type (25)
Used Elizabeth to pick 30 locks.

As you progress through the game you will come across closed doors and chests that, however, can be lock-picked with the help of your dear companion Elizabeth. When you find a lock like this, simply press the “X” button and Elizabeth will approach the lock and will pick it. Also, every story related lock won’t require any key and will also count as +1 to the achievement. So, if you are desperately looking forward to rush the achievement mentioned, simply do what has to be done and play the save/reload trick to complete the task. Do this until you get the pop up message notifying you about the unlocked achievement. Though, you need to remember that locks can’t be picked while in combat, so you will have to wait until it ends. By the way, if you are interested in rushing this achievement, one of the best places to do that is just when you enter Soldier's Field. There will be the unmissible door with a lock-pick lying right in front of it. The door itself will be on your left (down the stairs). After you pick the lock with the help of Elizabeth, go to the main menu and restart from the checkpoint. It will put you right at the door that sounds like a great opportunity to get things done fast and easy.

Eavesdropper.jpgEavesdropper (50)
Collected every Voxophone.

All in all there are 80 Voxophones in the game and your task is to collect them all. As a rule, every Voxophone record has a story to tell. Some of them are boring and not interesting while others carry important information and will help you to progress through the game a lot easier. So, it is recommended to pick them up and listen to the secrets they keep. For a lot more detailed guide on where to locate all Voxophones, check the Bioshock Infinite Collectible Guide.

Grand Largesse.jpgGrand Largesse (10)
Spent $10,000 at the vending machines of Columbia.

First of all, the good news is that you won’t be forced to have $10,000 at once in your pockets. Unlocking this achievement is cumulative and any sum you spend at the vending machines of Columbia will be added to the total sum required for unlocking. You are very likely to get this through your natural progression, especially if you invest this money into weapon upgrades and things alike including vigor upgrades, ammo, salt, health and others. I would also recommend spending money on keys. They will count towards the achievement and will be useful in your further progression through the game. There is also a possibility to use the good old save/reload method. Just make sure that you have at least $1,000 on, spend them at the vending machine and then restart from the checkpoint. Though, for some reason this method does not always work.

Coins in the Cushion.jpgCoins in the Cushion (10)
Looted 200 containers.

If you are like me and enjoy searching every corner of the game, then you are very likely to unlock this naturally. All you have to do is to open every container you come across and by saying “container” I do mean pretty much everything that can hold something inside. This can be boxes, chests, containers in their actual meanings and pretty much everything else that can be opened and looted. Inside those containers you are going to find pretty different things starting with coins and going up to ammo and healing salts. So, if you want to complete this achievement, simply try not to miss any container you come across.

Scavenger Hunt.jpgScavenger Hunt (75)
Completed the game in 1999 mode without purchasing anything from a Dollar Bill vending machine.

Unlocking this achievement is actually easier than it sounds. But first of all you need to follow some guidelines to complete the game in 1999 mode. It is the hardest possible difficulty available in Bioshock Infinite. So, before you start playing it in 1999, here’s a few rules you need to keep in mind:
This saves the situation a bit but as you would expect.
2. Unlike any other difficulty mode, even if you dealt 90% of damage to your Boss enemy but still died, they will respawn with the full health and you will be forced to start killing them all over again.
As for the fighting strategy, as long as you keep your character behind covers, save ammo and loot any possible container, you shouldn’t have any problems completing the achievement. Though, it is highly recommended to concentrate your investments on gear that will improve your health and/or will regenerate shields a lot faster.
Now, as for the Dollar Bill vending machine and not spending a cent there. I think it is important to stress and confirm that this rule does not allow you to use the Dollar Bill vending machines only meaning that anything else marked the other way won’t break your attempt to get the achievement. You definitely can and even should use vigor and weapon vending machines. After all, completing the game on 1999 difficulty is not a walk in the park and things might get really tough. Also, you can open or possess machines if you want to but buying things from them is still a big no no.

Working Class Hero.jpgWorking Class Hero (25)
Completed Factory.

This is story related and can’t be missed. Your task is to complete help for the Vox Populi member, Daisy Fitzro and them confront her. You might have some difficulties unlocking this achievement, especially on harder difficulties. The reason is rather simple: there will be too much enemies and dealing with them all at once will be quite a challenge. So, here’s what I recommend to do. Of course, you can use whatever strategy you find is useful and effective, but I am sharing what I did and what actually helped me to complete the mission and unlock the achievement mentioned.
As I’ve mentioned before, unlocking this achievement on harder difficulties will be challenging, though you shouldn’t have any problems doing that when playing on easy or normal. At a certain moment you will face too much enemies going your way and among the regular ones there will be a Handyman and a Fireman. A combination of those two is deadly. So, before the Handyman spawns, it is recommended to concentrate your fire on the regular enemies. This will allow you not to be distracted with the minor targets when dealing with the Handyman. Now, when the big guy appears on the battlefield, jump on the Sky Line and drive around. When you reach the highest platform – jump off on it and try to Sky-attack any potentially dangerous enemy nearby. Wait for at least two seconds on the platform and, again, jump back to the Sky Line. A 2 second wait is necessary to avoid getting into trouble with the Handyman who can charge up the Sky Line and cause some serious damage to you. Repeat the strategy described above for a few times (5 should be necessary). At a certain moment the Handyman will get tired of your playing fools on him and should jump off the level and die. If that happens – deal with the remaining enemies and meet Elizabeth in the middle of the platform afterwards.

Blood in the Streets.jpgBlood in the Streets (25)
Completed Emporia.

This is story related and can’t be missed. You will get there after landing the First Lady Zeppelin. Wait for all the conversations to end and when done talking, push the piano and find Comstock. Though, get ready to fight some Vox Populi. Also, do not forget to loot everything that can be looted and check every Tear Elizabeth will open for you. When you complete the area, you will get the pop up message notifying you about the successful achievement.

Higher Learning.jpgHigher Learning (25)
Completed Comstock House.

This is story related and can’t be missed. In order to unlock this achievement you will have to make your way through Comstock's house. It won’t be easy and dealing with Songbird as well as some Tears is what you need to expect. But, after you show your bravery and reunite with Elizabeth, you will get the pop up message saying that now you have 25G points and one good achievement in your success list.

The Bird or The Cage.jpgThe Bird or The Cage (25)
Completed The Hand of the Prophet.

This is story related and can’t be missed. You will unlock this achievement after you complete “The Hand of the Prophet” mission. After Songbird leaves you alone, the pop up message will appear notifying you about the successful attempt. Also, if you are looking for a bit more detailed guide on unlocking this achievement, you might find my strategy pretty helpful. So, here’s what I used and what I did to make “The Bird or The Cage” with its 25G points mine.

Gear Used
Of course, it might be anything you find through the natural progression but the items mentioned below have actually made everything a lot easier.
Hat - Sheltered Life: this hat allows you to stay invulnerable when gaining health from snacks and health kits. There is nothing more useful than that.
Shirt - Pyromaniac: when active, you get a 50% chance to burn nearby enemies. At the same time your enemies take 400% damage over three seconds which is totally insane.
Pants - Urgent Care: increases shield recharge rate by 2x and also decreases shield recharge delay by 1 second. In the final battled every single second is vitally important.
Boots - Overkill: if you kill someone with excessive damage, it will stun the nearby enemies giving you a lot better opportunity to strike again take a lot less risk for their counterattack.

Vigors Used
Again – this is all up to you but I’ve found Murder of Crows and Possession the most effective vigors in the last fight.
