Unless I misunderstood, or misread - I seem to remember reading somewhere that the XB1 is capable of doing 4K output as well....
Yea, that was announced. I believe both consoles are 4k ready.
Forza 5, an Xbox One launch title, is 1080p native. That is enough to debunk any of those 'rumors'.
You'll see a mix of native resolutions on both next gen consoles. Based on the technology inside each console, especially the Xbox One, I'm betting we'll see a lot more 900p upscaled to 1080p, due to the graphic quality being better even after upscaling (bing/google search 'hana' upscaling).
That said, the resolution discussions/arguments are somewhat dumb, because no matter what if you have a 1080p TV the game will display in 1080p. And if the game looks fantastic, then the native resolution doesn't mean anything.
Look at the end result and use that for comparisons; talking behind the scene statistics does not reflect the end result. Case in point: Ryse running at 900p, which looks phenomenal.
Don't be worried about that stuff. I mean think about it! If the Wii U can push out more games now then PS4 & X1 at 1080p 60fps with inferior hardware, then X1 is MORE then capable to achieve this task. This are just the early stages that game devs need the time to learn the hardware. Once they master the hardware you will see more of a difference in the coming years.
Doesn't really matter to me, Not an extreme video enthusiast.
I can't notice the difference of watching a 720p movie and a 1080p, as long as the graphics look amazing.
Not that I trust much this source, lot of rumors were fake. Neogaf was always pro Sony. What do you guys think?
Yeah, Neogaf was always pro-Sony. Like when they shat on the PS3 way back when it came out and joked that it had "NO GAMES" for quite a while. Yeah...
Anyway, certain games that run at 1080p on PS4 are only 720p on X1. Not a big deal to me, don't see what's the huge fuzz over it considering a lot of games were UNDER 720p`in the current generation anyway. But yeah.
However, the X1 CAN output native 1080p. Just depends on the games.
