Below you will find cheats associated with Alan Wake. Cheats typically create an advantage beyond normal gameplay, usually to make the game easier. Cheats sometimes take the form of "secrets" or “Easter eggs” placed in the game by the developers themselves. Cheats may be activated from within the game itself by using a cheat code implemented by the original game developers; or created by third-party software (a game trainer) or hardware (a cheat cartridge). They can also be done by exploiting software bugs.

When on the top floor of the lodge in Chapter 4, look for the painting on the wall. Grab your smartphone and take a picture of it. You can use Microsoft Tag to read it.

Examine the bookshelves throughout the game. The book titled The Things I Want is actually a reference to a Max Payne 2 monologue and chapter title.

Night Shapes
When the Dr. asks you to go back to your room at the beginning of Episode 4, check out the room across the hall. You'll see a 360 hooked up with a game on the table. Look familiar?

Sam Lake Interview
Have you actually watched the television? The guy who looks like Max Payne? Yeah, it's actually Sam Lake, who was the lead writer for the game and is also the face they mapped which became Max Payne.

The Sudden Stop
The few pages that you can read from your novel The Sudden Stop actually references the Max Payne series and when reading it, it actually voiced by the actor that lends his voice to Max Payne.

Restroom Humor
Check out the women's restrooms in Episode 3. None of the stalls have toilet seats!
