So I'm looking for some opinions here. It's time for a new laptop as my current is starting to show its age pretty bad. I'm looking for something in the 15in screen size that can hold its own in current gen games and still be used for productivity. I would also like to stick to the $900-$1200 range. I'm currently looking at the Lenovo Y500 but I'm open to suggestions!

Why not build your own desktop? The price can be in that range, but 10x better than laptops. If you don't want to though, I would recommend the ASUS G series. ASUS makes the best laptops in my opinion, both gaming, and business-related work.

I already have a desktop that I built. I need something portable and I honestly spend much more time on my laptops then my desktops.

MSI makes a lot of great "budget" gaming laptops right at the cuff of your 1200$ price range. Some of them even have built in mechanical keyboards built in, but almost all have GTX 600 series graphics cards. Good luck!
