Xbox 360 Beta Tester for Xbox Games?

I was curious if anyone here had ever taken part in the beta testing for an Xbox game. I'm not sure how Microsoft selects the people they need for testing, but someone has to found all of those technical glitches. It would be pretty cool to be among the first players before the game is even on the market.

I have always wondered how to be a beta tester for games. Do normal everyday people do this or does Microsoft hire people to beta test?

I am not sure how people get to be beta testers for games. My friend preordered SWTOR and got a chance to do some beta testing. I think before it was released, they did several waves of beta testers.

I have never been a beta tester and I am not sure I would want to be one. I like just playing a game and if I had to stop playing to make notes I would be mad. I am not even sure what a beta tester does.
