This is the official Borderlands 2 launch trailer released by Gearbox Software. Midnight launch tonight for one of my most anticipated games of the year. I cannot wait to play co-op with some friends and let you all know how it is.

Judging from the trailer, the game looks pretty sweet. I never played the first Borderlands game though; would I be missing anything if I just skipped it and started playing Borderlands 2?
