Xbox One button mapping issues..

so my xbox controller's right shoulder button (or bumper) straight up doesn't work (i'll find someone to fix it after the corona situation is over), so i decided to map d-pad right to the right "bumper" temporarily using the xbox accesories app on my xbox one, but then i needed to get the controls back to normal so i can use the d-pad again, but when i map the buttons back to what they should be it doesn't save it, restoring it back to default controller settings doesn't work either (as in d-pad right is STILL mapped to the right bumper), can anyone help me with this?
