Don't be surprised if there is one for the XB1 in Sunday's paper. I usually get the paper on Saturday with all of the circulars so I'll post something if I see anything.

Buy 2 get one free Xbox One games?

i cant find the article but it said microsoft is not taking part on this sale.
this may look good on paper for ps4 and the consumer but it is shooting itself in the foot for developers..
buying 2 games is great. but giving one away is taking money from 2 places.. and it will cost sony on the big end.. free game is just that. but they still have to support the game with cloud,networking and the like. sony already has issues with paying customers networking on the big title games on ps3.. do you think that will improve with ps4 and the sheer amount of data these games are streaming/wifi?
microsoft may seem greedy but they just dropped 300million on cloud storage and dedicated servers. they are standing behind the ip's.. you may be paying for xblive but thats chump change when your building and helping to develop as much as microsoft is with servers and cloud.
its not like the free games people are after are dance dance revolution or sports.. its forza5,cod,bf4,ac4 the big title games.
im not hurt if they dont do black friday sales this early or within a week of launch. i would expect that next year a good bit of games and possibly the xb1 platnium games may be at a great price.

BOOOOO! They've dropped the ball a few times when it comes to these new systems. That sucks dude. I was about to go to the website and check it out.
Actually it's exact opposite. Sony is doing whatever it takes to sprint this holiday season, but they'll take a big financial hit doing it. If this doesn't pan out for them, expect their stock to drop even more. Offering deep discounts before the product has even launched is a sign of uncertainty/ruffle confidence.
I imagine we'll see some good deals on Xbox One games as well during the holiday season, but I doubt it'll be a free game.

Considering all the folks clambering for a PS4, I doubt Sony will be fazed by losing revenue by Target offering a free game. They've always been in it for the long haul.

Exactly! This move is all about hype. Sony only cares about moving console units right now, games be damned. Their one mission right now is establishing a large install base so if a few free games can get that done, they will have no problem with it.

Sony is sprinting for sales and taking the hit, but they don't care. As has been said, they need those consoles sold. Sony doesn't really have any room for failure, I doubt their financial situation would be able to handle one.

Great news! Major Nelson just confirmed that Games With Gold will start in 2014 for Xbox One. We already know Games With Gold will continue indefinitely on the Xbox 360, and now it's confirmed we'll be getting free Xbox One games as well. We'll pass along the details when we get them.

No special deals on Xbox One games in Target's Sunday ad. Although, Toys R Us did have a buy 3, get a 50 gift card. Not a great deal, but kinda similar to the Target one.
