Do PC players have an inherent advantage over console players?

My friends and colleagues often boast and claim that PC gamers can easily wreck console gamers. First Person shooters come to mind as PC gamers have the luxury of using the keyboard and mouse. Can you play better, or at least on par with PC players with the joypad?

I find it difficult to play FPS with the joypad and my accuracy is really bad. This is the reason why I don't really play FPS games online.

It's a matter of practice, but yeah, for the most part PC has a better advantage when aiming. That was proven when the Halo 2 servers were shared between console and PC, and PC players always had the upper hand.

I know what you mean about trying to type on console game systems. Some people get mics to talk rather than type to other players in the game. There are voice stimulation technology. However, when it comes to typing, I generally prefer the keyboard because I am so used to it. I do not want to take a few minutes just to type a few sentences (aka select one letter at a time on a virtual keyboard) on the console system. However, you can say the same thing about texting on the cell phone in comparison to talking on the phone.

PC players have an advantage when aiming on FPS, but that doesn't really mean that they have superior skills or a better understanding of the game. They can have all the ease of aiming but without proper skills and understanding they will still get wrecked.

I'm always playing my games on PC with great satisfaction though I didn't know that we are advantaged over the console guys...:D

I don't believe it. I play PC games better with a controller similar to the X-BOX console controllers. So now, a keyboard and mouse don't give me any sort of advantage. Maybe it all depends on who you are, but for me. This is not true.

I am by no means a PC elitist, (in fact, I do most of my gaming on consoles) but a good player using kb/m will almost always trump a controller user. There also seems to be more of a skill gap on PC FPS games, so it's probably the better platform for competitive gaming.

I play better with FPS games on PC. I am just having some trouble aiming with a controller compared to a mouse.

But with other games, it really depends upon the gamer. I play better 2k13 on 360 than on PC.

Yes. PC does have an advantage. You can multitask easier, and an option to voice chat.
You can also easily plug in your controller on the PC and play.

Cheaper games as there are more deals as well as mods for games.

Ease of gameplay-wise? I don't know. All I know is sometimes I envy the console players and plug my 360 controller into my computer. ;)
