Xbox One Do u need to download the whole game

On every backwards compatible game? I don’t get it why not install the game from the disk
My internet sucks and I can’t get no better just to update the so called game ( tomb raider legend ) 12 hours. I just bought a Xbox one x thinking well let’s play some old games and the wind was taken out of my sails when I saw that I had to download the game.why even call it a update what a joke makes me won’t to return it.I got the Star Wars with the Xbox 36 gigs I don’t even know how long that will take to download .is there any other way to install the games to the hard drive ? And even if I buy a game from the store on a disk I’m still stuck DOWN LOADING

I don't think there is any other way currently. When you play a game that is backwards compatible it essentially downloads and plays it from Xbox Live and not from the disc because of technical differences between the disc readers.
It sucks but hang in there.
