Legacy was the first downloadable content released for Dragon Age II. Available on July 26, 2011, Legacy featured new missions, new areas, and a new class-specific weapon. The official description of the game from Bioware’s website:
“Targeted by a vicious criminal cartel that are hunting "the blood of the Hawke," you must put an end to their relentless attacks. Leave Kirkwall, and journey to an ancient Grey Warden prison in order to find the source of the aggression and uncover the harsh truth about the Hawke lineage. Playable from any point in the Dragon Age II campaign, face new breeds of darkspawn, forge a powerful new weapon and come face to face with an ancient horror.”
Legacy includes five new achievements worth 120 gamer points.
This guide does include some minor spoilers, so read with caution.
Legacy Achievement Guide
Conductor (30G)
Defeat an ancient evil in the Vimmark Mountains.
Story related and cannot be missed. The fight against the final boss of the DLC can be tough, but fight cautiously and you should get through without too much problem. Once you’ve defeated the boss the achievement is yours.
Deep Roads Safari (15G)
Kill a genlock, genlock alpha, hurlock alpha, bronto, and deepstalker in the Vimmark Mountains.
Story related and cannot be missed. Just make sure that you kill everything you come across, and upon killing one of each of the listed enemies the achievement is yours.
Family Legacy (30G)
Apply three effects to Hawke's Key.
Story related and cannot be missed. You get one effect after each guardian that you defeat. Defeat the third guardian and apply an effect to the Key and the achievement is yours.
Family Outing (15G)
Complete the main quest in the Vimmark Mountains with Bethany or Carver in the party.
Story related but CAN be missed. You must have either Bethany or Carver in your party for the ENTIRE duration of the main quest. Switching them out even once will restrict you from getting the achievement. Complete the main quest with one of the two characters in your party and the achievement is yours.
Tower Sweeper (30G)
Complete every side quest in the Vimmark Mountains prison tower.
There are three side quests in the Vimmark Mountains prison tower: “Malcom’s Will,” “Altar of Dumat,” and “The Paragon’s Heir.” You must complete all three for this achievement.
Malcom’s Will – defeat the demons trapped inside the tower by Malcom Hawke. You can do this by activating the red markers near the demons and on the barrier. There are a total of three demons in the tower that you need to defeat.
Altar of Dumat – you can either place four items on the altar or defile the altar to complete the quest. Two of the items are marked on Farele’s Floor map and the other two items (along with the altar itself) are marked on the Tower Base map.
The Paragon’s Heir – You will need to collect journal notes written by the Legion of the Dead. The journal notes and Tethras Garen’s body are all located in the Tower Base area.
Once you’ve completed all three quests the achievement is yours.
