Xbox One How do you like the Kinect?

I never bought a Kinect for my 360, but I know a lot of other people did. I also heard people talking over the years about how the thing could really stand for a few improvements here and there... So did Microsoft pull through and do better this go round with the new Kinect?

I really like the kinect and it works well, but far from perfect. Seems how loud you play your TV or stereo can affect it hearing
you some. It is leaps and bounds better than the original kinect though.

If you think about it, chances are you are not game playing as much as playing, so the kinect features can get a lot more use.
For me, I watch TV, surf YT, play other apps 10x more than I play games so the kinect comes in handy.

I like the concept of Kinect (and also the name, sounds awesome), but I've never had a chance to try it out. I hope that will change one day, hopefully soon.
Kinect really sounds like something revolutionary and ultra-cool.

The voice commands are worth it alone. Also, being able to have the camera recognize you and log you in is pretty neat.

I haven't played any kinect games, but I still love it. The "Xbox record this" function alone makes it worth it.

In using the tv function of the kinnect threw your cable box, can you say the channel or do have to say the name of the channeel? Do you have to say xbox comedy central or can you say xbox channel 330, or can you do either?

I tried "Watch Channel 330" and it did not work. So I guess you have to say the name of the channel.

This is dissappointing. I heard it has a hard time getting the channel you want, say you have 5 hbo channels. It gives you the main one and not the others, at least that is what others have posted. A workaround to that would be if you could say the channel number. At lleast that is something... can anyone else confirm the channel info?

Well the whole UI was based on the idea that the Kinect was going to be mandatory so b/c of that the UI is just easier to navigate through using voice commands rather than controller

Playing BF4 you can hold RB to bring up the call out functions "Need a Medic, Need Ammo, etc" but you can verbally say those things and it happens in game. Pretty neat

I have problems with Kinect not recognizing the channel and not recognizing my "Xbox On" command. Seems as if it works when it wants to... Very frustrating!

I love the new kinect but I don't use it that much. I use my controller most of the time, plus I don't actually like games that requires you to move (well unless it's a dance game where I can play with my relatives). I love Xbox One entirely. I wish they could come up with new games and faster releases if possible.

It is awesome!!! Kinect on xbone is way better than the 360 I love, and as someone said the record this function is simply amazing

I don't want a Kinect, I have one for my 360 because I really enjoy the Just Dance series but I don't like being forced into buying it. That's really my only major problem with it. Otherwise it's not awful, just don't expect it to work the way it does in the advertisements. I don't hate the new Kinect but at least to me, it's more trouble then it's worth. But you can shut it off so there's that.
