Using Kinect you can control the Xbox Dashboard with both your voice and gestures. You must ensure the latest console software to get the best Kinect experience.

How to use gestures with the Xbox Dashboard

To control the Xbox Dashboard with your gestures, you need to do the following:

  • First, you need to hold your arm straight out to the side and bend your elbow upward.
  • After that, you’ll have to wave your hand to the Kinect by moving your forearm left and right.

You will see a hand cursor on the screen. Now you can use gestures to navigate the Dashboard instead of a controller.

  • To navigate the Dashboard, you need to point the palm of your hand toward the screen. Then you need to move the on-screen hand over the item you want to select. To select the item, you will have to keep the hand over the item until the circle complete.
  • If you want to move the next area of the Xbox Dashboard, you’ll need to move your hand to the edge of the screen and “swipe” across your body.
