Just saw on one of the deals websites that iOffer is selling the 12 month live cards for $35 with free shipping. Do you think a price drop is coming for the Xbox Live service?

if so, that's great news for us gamers!

Not sure about a price drop, Amazon occasionally has specials like that.

yea ebay amazon and such u can normally pic them up for 40 ish 12 month.

Nope, no impending price drop on Xbox Live. Microsoft makes far too much money on such subscriptions, and lowering the price will lower its own profits. There's no reason the company needs to drop the price, and individual retailers are often the ones that discount subscription cards. It's always nice to find such deals, but they're not indicative of Microsoft's future plans.

As previously stated, retailers such as Wal-Mart, Amazon, and even ebay will generally have these offers. It all depends if the seller has a large stock that he got in a big bundle deal or simply clearing out old stock. The cards do come pre-activated in most of these cases so its just a better deal to buy them at this price. You have to beware of scammers though!

Thanks for sharing this. I hate paying full price for live but I never think to Google for discounted offers. $35 is almost half off the membership! I wonder if you can buy more than one for more than one year of service or if they will expire too soon for that...

If you search often you'll notice that most stores have such offers from time to time. It's a great way to generate more sales by attracting customers interested in the live cards. It's also more lucrative for Microsoft to offer discounted cards from time to time at different stores instead of simply reducing the price as a whole.
