Tips for setting up your Kinect for Windows sensor
- You have to ensure that your computer is running Windows 7 and has the latest drivers from Windows Update.
- You need to center the sensor horizontally in front of your monitor or screen. You can also follow the setup instructions in the application.
- You should position the sensor on a flat, stable surface, away from any edge.
- Never position the sensor on a stereo speaker or vibrating surface.
- Never tilt the sensor manually.
- You have to ensure that the sensor can tilt freely and the front is not obstructed by power cords, computer cables, or other solid objects.
- You should keep the sensor away from direct sunlight.
- Avoid positioning the sensor near a fan, stereo speaker, or loud machinery to minimize possible voice-recognition issues.
- Always try to keep the lens clean.
- If you’re using any mounting accessory, you should ensure that the sensor is mounted correctly.
