Below are the achievements for Max Payne 3, along with the number of achievement points you’ll receive and a summary on how to get each achievement.
Max Payne 3 Achievement List
Feel The Payne (30)
Story Complete [MEDIUM]
For this achievement, you have to complete the story on Medium difficulty. If your Hard Lock aiming is turned on, you will get a warning before you start. Ensure you use Soft Lock aiming and the achievement will unlock after you complete the story.
Serious Payne (50)
Story Complete [HARD]
For this achievement, you have to complete the story on Hard difficulty. If your Hard Lock aiming is turned on, you will get a warning before you start. Ensure you use Soft Lock aiming and the achievement will unlock after you complete the story.
Maximum Payne (80)
Story Complete [OLD SCHOOL]
For this achievement, you have to complete the story on Old School difficulty. If your Hard Lock aiming is turned on, you will get a warning before you start. Ensure you use Soft Lock aiming and the achievement will unlock after you complete the story.
Payne In The Ass (20)
Story Complete [HARDCORE]
For this achievement, you have to complete the story on Hardcore difficulty. If your Hard Lock aiming is turned on, you will get a warning before you start. Ensure you use Soft Lock aiming and the achievement will unlock after you complete the story.
Part I Complete (20)
Complete Part I Of The Story
Part I of the story runs from Chapter 1 to Chapter 5. You will get this achievement once you complete Chapter 5. There will be a cutscene and then the achievement will pop right after that. You have to play on Medium or higher difficulty.
Part II Complete (20)
Complete Part II Of The Story
Part II of the story runs from Chapter 5 to Chapter 10. You will get this achievement once you complete Chapter 10. There will be a cutscene and then the achievement will pop right after that. You have to play on Medium or higher difficulty.
Part III Complete (20)
Complete Part III Of The Story
Part III of the story runs from Chapter 11 to Chapter 14. You will get this achievement once you complete Chapter 14. There will be a cutscene and then the achievement will pop right after that. You have to play on Medium or higher difficulty. Here is a video to help you out. Direct Link.
A New York Minute (100)
Finish In A New York Minute
A New York Minute in the Arcade mode for the game, and you are required to complete a certain level within a limited amount of time. You gain more time with killings but if the timer runs our before you are through its game over. You will be given the option to use Soft Lock or Free aim. Free aim will enable you to get more head shots plus you get 20% additional time.
The Shadows Rushed Me (10)
Unlock And Complete New York Minute Hardcore
First, you have to finish New York Minute to Unlock New York Minute Hardcore. You are then required to finish the game on Hardcore difficulty without dying even once. If you die at any stage, you have to restart. The good thin is that the time stacks so the more time you save on each stage, the better.
Out The Window (10)
Get 6 Kills While Diving Through The VIP Window [FREE AIM]
This should be easy enough. You will get in Chapter 2, Checkpoint 2. Jump through the window and kill six guys while Free aim is off. Here is a video to help you. Direct Link.
The One Eyed Man Is King (10)
Cover Passos With Perfect Aim
You will get this in Chapter 3, Checkpoint 12. You are required to kill every enemy with one bullet each. If you don’t get it, you can leave the game and load checkpoint 12 again. Here is a video to help you out. Direct Link.
Something Wicked This Way Comes (10)
Get 7 Kills While Jumping From The Rickety Boat [FREE AIM]
You will get this in Chapter 5, Checkpoint 6. While you are hiding in the boat, shoot the propane bottle on the stairs to the right. A cutscene will follow showing the chain breaking and Max jumping from the boat. The propane bottle will have exploded and killed some enemies. Finish off the remaining three or four guys and the achievement will unlock.
That Old Familiar Feeling (10)
Clear The Hallway Of Lasers
You will get this in Chapter 4, Checkpoint 8. Inside the room that you start in, you will find a shotgun, pistol and pk. Kill the three guys in the hallway and then shoot the 5 snipers (green lasers) to the left.
Amidst The Wreckage (5)
Destroy All The Models In The Boardroom
You will get this in Chapter 6, Checkpoint 3. There will be four models in the boardroom and you are supposed to destroy them completely by shooting each at least twice. Here is a video to help you. Direct Link.
So Much For Being Subtle (10)
Get 9 Kills While Being Pulled By A Chain [FREE AIM]

Clear Everyone On The Bus Ride
You will get this in Chapter 10, Checkpoint 11. When faced with the three guys at the end of the tunnel, start with the guys on the left and on the right before shooting the middle guy carrying the RPG last. You can also get ‘Colder than the Devil’s Heart’ achievement at the same time.
Along For The Ride (10)
Trigger A Bullet Cam On The Zipline [FREE AIM]
You will get this in Chapter 11, Checkpoint 11. Here is a video to help you. Direct Link.
Sometimes You Get Lucky (5)
Get A Headshot During The Rooftop Tremors
You will get this in Chapter 12, Checkpoint 11. Just get close to the guy, wait for the tremor and then shoot him in the head. Here is a video to help you out. Direct Link.
It Was Chaos And Luck (10)
Get 6 Kills While Riding The Push Cart [FREE AIM]
You will get this in Chapter 13, Checkpoint 14. Watch out for the enemies in the dark, it is hard to see them. Here is a video to help you out. Direct Link.

Total Everything On The Runway
You will get this in Chapter 14, Checkpoint 13. Use your grenade launcher to destroy both the car and the helicopter in order to unlock the achievement.
The Fear Of Losing It (20)
Survive A Level Without Painkillers
You can easily get this on the first level since it is the shortest and easiest.
It's Fear That Gives Men Wings (20)
10 Bullet Time® Kills In A Row
You will get this is Chapter 5, Checkpoint 17. After the bus chase when it crashes, you will be swarmed by about 12-15 guys. Your bullet time stays full as you get shot at so much. Here is a video to help you out. Direct Link.
You Might Hurt Someone With That (20)
Shoot 10 Airborne Grenades
You can get this easily in the Graveyard Chapter. When you get the guy with the grenade launcher, go into bullet time and shoot the grenades. You can add to your bullet time by killing the two or three guys around him. You have to be fast in killing the guy or else he might hit you with a grenade.
One Bullet At A Time (20)
300 Headshots
The best way to get this is to use free-aim. The single-fire weapons like pistols will also give you a more accurate shot to the head.
You Play, You Pay, You Bastard (20)
100 Kills With Melee
You can get this in Chapter 6, Checkpoint 11. That moment when the building is on fire you have to disarm some guy. Do so and then shoot him in the head. Reload the checkpoint and repeat until the achievement unlocks.
With Practiced Bravado (20)
100 Kills During Shootdodge
You can get this in Chapter 8, Checkpoint 2. There will be three guys there. Kill all of them in a shoot dodge and restart the checkpoint. Repeat until you unlock the achievement.
Colder Than The Devil's Heart (15)
Kill 30 Enemies In 2 Minutes
You can get this at the last checkpoint in Chapter 5. After you have shot the grenade in the air, quickly kill all the people on the other side and blow up the gas station the moment you can see it. Next, shoot the people in the cars and the achievement will unlock.
A Few Hundred Bullets Back (20)
Use Every Weapon In The Game

Past The Point Of No Return (10)
Take 100 Painkillers
If you finish the story and haven’t got this achievement yet, you can go to Chapter 1, Checkpoint 2 and play on Hard difficulty with Hard aim on. You have four painkillers to start with, and there will be five enemies. Let them shoot you until you go down each time. Rinse and repeat until you have consumed 100 painkillers to unlock the achievement.

This should be easy. Just grind each challenge on a checkpoint by reloading it. You can track each challenge through Main Menu-->Story/Multiplayer-->Grinds. Make sure you hunt down the collectibles as you play along.

Complete One Of Each Game Mode Including All Gang Wars
Complete a match in each game type (Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, etc) and then complete the 12 Gang Wars game modes. Use soft lock and free aim.
Payne Bringer (30)
Kill 100 Other Players
You will get this while playing online. You can boost your count with the help of friends and other online gamers.
Max Payne Invitational (5)
Invite someone to play through the in-game contact list
This should be easy enough. Get into multiplayer and hit [RB But] so that you see the in-game contact list. Invite one of your friends or just pick a random name and the achievement will pop.
Man Of Many Weapons (25)
Unlock All Weapons
You can do this in Arcade mode or multiplayer. The last weapon you unlock will be Desert Eagle on level 40.
Man Of Many Faces (25)
Unlock All Faction Characters
This is best done on Multiplayer. By the time you finish level 7, you should have unlocked the achievement.
Deathmatch Challenge (20)
Winner In Any Public Deathmatch
The best place to get this on the Rookie playlist where you will get weak opponents, and you have to win a Deathmatch. Go to the nightclub roof and stay on the ledge to the left of the helicopter pad. Just shoot at people as they run by.
Grave Robber (5)
Looted A Body
You will get this on Multiplayer. Simply hold [B But] over a dead player’s body until the meter fills up and the achievement will unlock.
The Gambler (15)
Won A Wager
During gang wars, before you start each round, press [X But] to see the wagers available. You can bet on one of three people. You are allowed to wager once for every round, so you will have 5 chances during each gang war match. You can use a friend to help you by betting on them.
Training Complete (25)
Achieve Level Rank 50
You will get this on Multiplayer. There is a lot of grinding to be done so you can use a friend to help you out.
Dearest Of All My Friends (10)
Kill Someone On Your Friends List
You can arrange with a friend to boost you, or you can just invite a bunch of people to you friend list and kill one of them without their knowledge.

Sweep (10)
Flawless Team Gang Wars Victory
You need a good team when going for this achievement. You have to win all the five rounds in this mode in order to unlock the achievement.
You Push A Man Too Far (5)
Don't Shoot The Dis-Armed Man
You will get this towards the end of the game after you have fought Victor and his goons. When the fight is over, just let Max talk and he will die.
Air Ace (25)
Get 2 kills in a single Shootdodge in the Departure Lounge
You have to be in a public match to get this. You can get eight players in a party and then join a public game as a group. You will be put on your own then you can boost the achievement.
Express Checkout (25)
Kill 4 players within 3 seconds in the Imperial Palace
You have to be in a public match to get this. You can get eight players in a party and then join a public game as a group. You will be put on your own then you can boost the achievement.
Long Arm of the Law (25)
Win 20 Vendettas in the 55th Battalion HQ
To get this achievement, you need to be playing the Battalion HQ map. When you are given the option to get a vendetta, choose and kill the person.
M4 Murder (25)
Level up your M4 all the way to level 10
The M4 is a great weapon to use in the game. Level it up to level 10 and you will unlock the achievement.
Keep Your Nose Clean (25)
Get 100 Kills as a member of the SPP
You can get this in Deathmatch. Just choose an SPP character and you will eventually unlock the achievement once you reach 100 kills.
