I just found out that you can unlock a Minecraft watch for your Avatar by playing through 100 day and night cycles in the game. Does anyone know how long this takes to do in real time?
I imagine that would take a while, but I'm not sure exactly how long. There might be a website out there somewhere that will tell you exactly how long one Minecraft day is in real time, though.
It's ~20 mins total for a day in game, so 100 cycles is less than 2 days.
If you're on-call for a 3-day long weekend, getting woken up by a pager every few hours, you will get this easily. Just stand in the middle of a well lit and secure room.

I had been wondering about this too, so thanks for the info Wolfgang. I've played Minecraft off and on for a while now, but I've never had enough presence of mind to time the cycle and I can never remember to look it up when I'm on the computer!
