When the Original Xbox 360 Console doesn’t recognize an audio/video (A/V) cable, the four red lights around the power button flash red.
To troubleshoot the problem, follow the steps bellow:
Reset the A/V cable connections
The A/V cable that connects the console to your television might be problematic. You need to check the cable. There might be problem with the connection. So, reset the cable connection to see if the problem is fixed.
Here is how:
If the four lights still flash red, you’ll have to change the cable.
Use a different Cable
First, use a different A/V cable to figure out if there is a problem with the cable or with your console. You can borrow a friend’s working cable or you can buy a new Xbox 360 A/V cable from a store or from the Xbox online catalog.
After performing all above, if the problem exists, you should contact Xbox Support.
