Xbox One PS4 controller work around

A few years ago i was able to use my PS4 controller on my Xbox one using a workaround. I would connect my controller to my windows 10 pc and the open the xbox companion app and stream my console to my pc. This workaround did the job and i was able to play all games normally albeit with a bit of lag. I recently broke my plain black controller and bought a Sony gold controller to replace it but now this work around no longer works. Any ideas on how to fix this or any other workarounds for using ps4 controller on a xbox one?
