Xbox One Seriously, how accurate is the Kinect?

I'll preface this post by saying I own a 360, I've mostly played Halo games, Skyrim, and more recently Guitar Hero games for the drums. I never bought a Kinect because I got a 360 before they came with them, and I never felt the need to go additionally purchase one. So, I've always wondered, is the Kinect accurate enough for serious gaming? Like say if you played a racing game or FPS with it? What are your experiences? I ask because I noticed in the new Xbox presentation they talked about how much more accurate the new Kinect is... which got me wondering.

Do you have a Wii? If you do, the Kinect is certainly more accurate than the Wii. You can't cheat the Kinect the same way you can cheat the Wii. I think the Kinect is pretty accurate, but there are some bugs here and there. Occasionally, the Kinect won't recognize your movements though.
