Is anyone getting the new SimCity? It's a city simulation game where you can build your own city and specialize in it, it's really fun and you can unleash your imagination. The release date is 5th March, which is really soon. Anyone up for it? If you're, maybe we should play together via region play!

I am! I am also very stoked for this game.

I read the last Sim City was a bit of a disappointment. I'm hoping thi one makes the right balance between micro management and fun. Oh, and great graphics too :)

I have purchased the new Sim City and I can't say that I have enjoyed it much. I feel like Sim City 4 was a better game. The new one seems purely focused on zoning and putting out fires. There are more options for city road types but highways seem to be missing from the game. Also, you run out of space pretty quickly so it doesn't take long before you are moving on to your next city when you don't really feel like you even did much with the first one. Maybe I am missing a whole lot and misunderstanding a new play style but to me the new Sim City is just kind of boring.

I have this game, I really like it once they patched the bugs out. Traffic mostly, traffic nearly broke my city because people wouldn't get to and from work in the next city it was so crowded. I couldn't get my residential town to work because school busses refused to work. Garbage collection suffered. But, now mostly everything is working. There are still some things that will be coming out in the next patch to fix even more problems and make the game better.

I think this is better than SimCity 4. Yes it does lack highways and gigantic spanning zones, but that adds an extra element to strategy to it. How can you get your zoning to get the biggest businesses and rich folk and what not. They make going "green" difficult in the beginning. I had such a long wind farm that it was just crazy. Finally got the research done for the advanced Solar Farm. Which made my city require a fraction of the space for electricity.

There are some nice exploitable bugs that you can use to your favor to make your big city last long term. If you delete your dump everything turns into ground pollution, but if you plant trees over the polluted areas, the trees soak up the pollution and die. Then you rinse and repeat until you have less ground pollution and start another dump. Also, building your water pump next to a water treatment plant will give you infinite water in your city. I think the bug may have been fixed, but big cities were draining all the ground water before it would replenish.

I have spent a lot of time with this game. It did have its bumpy beginning, but overall pretty nice.

I am thinking about getting the new SimCity game. I have played SimCity 4 and I played it everyday after school. The game is so much fun. The game it is not about building cities only. In SC, you can manage international relations, go on missions, manage the environment, and basically play God. There is a lot of aspects to the game. How much is the new SimCity game?

The last two SimCity games don't seem to have done well. They've come under a lot of criticism. I think the designers don't understand what gamers are looking for anymore.

I was suppose to try it out at a friend's house, but... yeah, the server was busy.
Good one, EA, one more franchise ruined, are you enjoying yourself?

And now, a reboot for Thief... modern gaming just loves to ruin my precious memories, doesn't it?
