A South Park RPG developed by Obsidian? Sign me up! One of the things that really strike me as interesting is that the look of the game is going to very closely resemble the show, and the player will have the impression that they are controlling a South Park episode. This is different from any other South Park game developed thus far, and I have a good feeling that this will be the first one that people will talk about for years to come.

I have heard of this a while ago, looking forward to this so much.
Any idea when it will be released?

Is it out yet? My hubby loves South Park so I know he would love this game. How cool is it to direct a show! Some games feel so real! Is it out yet?

There is no announced date, but it's supossed to be released this year. Really looking forward to it myself, since it looks like it will be the first South Park game that doesn't suck balls.

so with the news of another push back again.. it was due out on 360 now.. but it has recently been pushed back again(3rd time) to march...

idk i would hope ubisoft is pushing it back to port it over and refine the game. i hope it is still not a broken title like a few are thinking... i was excited about this on 360 last year.. now that its well into the next gen(they have known about this) i would hope they would try and market the game big enough cross platform... basically this game is going to launch against titanfall and get slaughtered especially if its a 360 only title.

i would think at this point they would try and put the game in a position to make money and launching with one of the biggest titles of 2014 is not smart.. staying 360/ps3 only i think is another big let down. graphically its southpark it cant take a ton of shading and texture like ac4:blackflag..

so whats your thoughts on this? any hope for a xb1 launch? or will this game fail miserably.

I think the game is just riddled with problems, in part due to the rights to publishing being sold over. I don't think we'll see it on next gen at launch, maybe ported over afterwards.

I'm getting this PC, so no problem here. But in terms on whether it'll be successful when released in current-gen platforms and because of the reason Ubisoft delayed it is polishing it? Well, we'll have to wait and see. As for a next-gen release, probably it'll do what Tomb Raider and Rayman Legends and just get ported over after the proper release on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

I just hope this game turns out well for us. Well, South Park rocks in it's own simple way. Just have to see what happens when it's released.

True. Maybe it won't be such a letdown when it's only current-gen. I mean, look at GTA V. The game sold pretty well, despite only being of the current-gen. Saints Row IV sold well too. Then there's games on Steam, where even the low-tier PC gamer can access best-sellers. I believe South Park: Stick of Truth won't suffer even against the next-gen games. The install base of the current-gen is still big, you know, and don't put off the digital sales either, especially in PC. Steam provides a lot of percentage of sales for the games so you can't really diss this game either. We'll wait and see. And yo, I love South Park. A chance to do something as crazy as having the characters do stuff you would only see in the TV show excites me.

South Park won't suck, I can feel it. It might not be the hot-seller but it'll be that game where it has its own appeal to some gamers. Look at Saints Row The Third and Saints Row IV. Most gamers thought they were gonna suck bad but when they were released... they were sellers. Not the GTA V-ish sales but they were selling enough to have fans all over the world. I'd say it'll have the Saints Row appeal to it.

South Park rocks. Well this game will be a hit for the South Park fans. I haven't seen the trailer yet but I'm quite hyped in this getting released. Haha.

See? I'm not expecting it to be the mainstream hit for gamers out there. It's more or less a cult thing or as I said, the Saints Row-like thing where a sub-segment of the market will go for it. And remember: you can't diss the Steam market either. Even Steam can go for the obscure games. Ever heard of Papers, Please? It's just a game where you deal with getting people across the border of two countries. Game looks like something Big Brother would make to punish you and yet it's one of Steam's best-sellers. Also even PS3 and Xbox 360 gamers have weird tastes too. Look at Minecraft for the 360. Some thought it would suck but clearly, hearing a million copies sold online already indicates Minecraft has success on its own.

So I say South Park: The Stick of Truth will succeed, not in GTA V sales but in the sales enough to make it rock for fans. So yes, hail South Park!

@thecreed4life Rock on dood! You make a good point. Yes, that's right. It'll be the kind of hit that sells well but not in the mainstream level. I can also see it being a good seller on Steam. Glad someone agrees with my point. Well, all we can do is wait, so we have a chance to play as our character and spawn that weird Christmas Poo!.. and get involved in anal probing O_O
