​During their 25th anniversary celebration, Square Enix announced the newest Final Fantasy game to hit the shelves in 2013, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII.

While there are few details about gameplay, one of the big concepts pushed by the director will be that of “world driven” action. While only hinted at, the idea of the world always moving will create unique gameplay experiences for each of the players. The ecology, environment, and even the residents of the world will play a part in how the game unfolds.
