SSX is the video game this generation has been missing. The feeble attempts of other, lesser snowboarding games to capture the adrenaline fueled excitement of SSX don’t compare at all. This is what happens when you don’t just put the game out every year, but spend your time crafting it, creating the ultimate experience. SSX redefines snowboarding games, raises the bar for the genre, then backflips over it.

SSX is a terrific evolution of the series that delivers extreme snowboarding thrills like no game before it.

SSX marks the return of the best snowboarding series ever. Players will travel the world, speeding down some of the most treacherous slopes to ever be imagined. Only the limited multiplayer options keep this one from reaching the upper echelon of sports games. With glass-smooth controls, outstanding visuals and a jammin’ soundtrack, this is a reboot worth giving a shot.

Despite its many problems, I’m still tempted to recommend that long-time SSX fans check out this relaunch. The tracks that click with the old formula are fantastic, and they’re supported by one of the most impressive and robust online challenge systems ever.

If you can make it through the yellow snow without quitting the sport, SSX has enough to keep longtime fans busy…and happy.
