Xbox 360 Stealth Mode

Has anyone here tried to play this game in stealth mode, where the game is over if/when the guards are alerted to your presence? I thought I'd give it a try, but I quickly realized I'm not that good at staying hidden. After the guards were alerted to my presence and the game ended about 10 times, I switched back to normal mode.

I don't have the HD collection for Xbox 360, but I do have one of the older games that I play on my PS2. I think I tried briefly to play in that mode, but it was so hard that it wasn't even fun. I ended up starting the game over and just playing it on the normal mode. It's still a hard game to beat even when you're not playing it on the hardest level.
