Yes, I know that Halo 4 has been released as well as a few other Halo games since Halo 3. However, I think most people would agree that Halo 3 is the best Halo game every still to date. I used to play it often, and it's following would just not stop as far as online gaming. I haven't played Halo 3 in awhile because I've been into other games, but are people still playing this game online in large numbers?

No, people are not still playing Halo 3 online in large numbers. Most Halo players have moved on to Halo 4 or other shooters. The Call of Duty series has reduced the Halo population somewhat as there are not a lot of players who play both games a lot.

I have to agree that Halo 3 is the best Halo yet, at least in terms on multiplayer. I don't play it much these days, but I do every now and then. Since this console gen is coming to a close, I can safely say that there isn't a finer multiplayer experience this gen.

Simply the fact it's 6 years old verifies the popularity of the game, I for one still play the hell out of it. Yes, it is thee yes THEE BEST Halo game ever yes I have Halo 1, 2, 3, ODST, Wars, Reach, and 4, but nothing adds up to Halo 3. I get on the most I've seen within the last month is around 10100 which is still pretty big. But yes people still play 3 in somewhat-large numbers...

Unfortunately, Halo 3 isn't played much anymore.

Call of Duty and Halo 4 are going to do that. Even though Halo 3 is superior, people want to stay up to date with the newer games...especially the competitive gamer such as myself.

I play both CoD BO2 and Halo 4. With CoD, the gameplay is getting very stale and repetitive, and I'm just not enjoying it as much. With Halo 4 introducing Team Doubles not too long ago, I feel right at home. Doubles Pro is the closest thing to the competitive Halo I'm used to from 2 and 3. If they brought back competitive Halo to Halo 2 or 3, I would trash Halo 4 in a heartbeat, but that's not how gaming works.

I would honestly love to play Halo 3 still, of only my xbox hadn't red ringed. To me, it's just the most classic Halo game out there.

I am still playing Halo 3 and i feel it is the best Halo game of the entire series. The action is just incredible. I do not think any other game really compares.

I play very rarely, usually only when a friend comes over. It was a great game back in it's prime and I did enjoy playing it. Hopefully now that it's going to be free in Free game on the Month, the population will jump up a bit so I can find multiplayer matches quicker.

It will always be my favourite Halo game, but people have moved on to other games and/or Halo 4.

I still play it from time to time, but the numbers are pretty low when I log on. I wish I would have tried it during the free month, because I'm sure the number of players would have been a lot more (and there would have been plenty of noobs to kill too :P).

When it went f2p, I think the number got quite a boost.

My little brother just picked up Halo 3 via the free game you get with a Gold membership, so yeah, I'm still playing it. I'd played it when it was newer, when I was younger, so it was more like a return than continual playing. I let him(my little bro) be Master Chief and I'm Arbiter, since it's his game. He loves using the energy sword, lol.
