My husband's cousin invited us to his house so he could show us some action in GTA V . So anyway,I got there and I thought I'd let the boys play together since my husband was all excited about it. I went to the other room to chit chat with the cousin's wife and played with their 5 years old daughter. After a while I was like we should see what's the boys were doing. As we got out and the daughter ran towards the cousin, they were like freaking out trying tell us to get her back to the bedroom as they tried to turn it off as quick as possible but I got a glimpse of what they were doing .

Someone was getting some action in the car. The looks on his wife face was pretty epic. Her jaws almost dropped when she heard some of the moaning and a bit of the dirty words. Now mind you,she is not a gamer at all so this is pretty new to her. Overall,I think that's the most awkward moment of gaming we've ever been. On the way home ,my husband was like 'why did you lead them out??! WE WERE HAVING FUN TOO!'.

Any of you guys have any awkward moment while playing any of your game?

LOL. Trying to explain some of these things in games to non gamers can be futile at times. All they see is my character getting a lap dance from a topless woman and me saying "You don't understand....I want her to LIKE me all the way. It's strategy!".

But, then again, that's not too awkward for me. Everyone that knows me would be shocked if I WASN'T doing that in a game. :D

Haha, that's amazing! Grand Theft Auto is definitely not the gaming franchise you want someone to walk in on if they're not too keen on video games.

Most of my awkward gaming moments come when my frustration gets the best of me. I can get pretty inventive with curse words, but I live with my parents so I try to hold my tongue. It doesn't always work out that way though...

Wow, that's pretty funny to be honest. It's happened often to me for sure. I think I've had a similar incident happen with the first God of War game on PS2.... that ship scene, haha. But in the end, it all adds to the fun of the game!

haha great story for sure. I've actually been in a similar situation with an earlier GTA. I was still in high school, so I was living at home. I'm in my room playing GTA and I pick up a hooker. Mind you I have my tv turned up kind of loud and my room was near the bath room. Well my character starts getting into it and the hooker is moaning. My dad knocks on my door and says "You better stop that before you go blind" haha. I seriously wanted to die right there and I didn't have the words to describe to him what was happening so I just accepted it. Talk about awkward!

For some reason, i never felt awkward for what i play, even though i play a lot of JRPGs that have a lot of cringe worthy moments that some of my friends had the opportunity to feel, but i never got such a thing. Guess i ain't that ashamed of what i do or play.

This happened to me while I was playing heavy rain. Near the beginning of the game, you are introduced to a female lead character. She wakes up during the middle of the night and decides to take a shower. So right when I'm at the part where she's naked and turning on the taps is when my dad walks into my room. I didn't want to turn off the game because I didn't want to lose my save progress. It's a pretty awkward situation so he just asks whatever question he was there for and left.
Fast forward to a little bit later in game and the female lead character is getting her throat slit. And my Dad walks in again. This time he mumbled "these games are horrible." and then left.

Haha this is exactly why children should not play games that are rated M. As a parent you should probably know by now that GTA V is probably going to be prettymviolent and sexual lol!

That is an awkward moment. I have had awkward moments gaming similar to that. When I was young and I played older versions of Grand Theft Auto, I use to have awkward moments all the time. I would never forget the moments when I use to play the game and the nasty parts of Grand Theft Auto would come up. I would always try to hide the parts from my mom, I would have to skip parts sometimes.

Ah... yes. Awkwardness. Because I'm rather significantly older than my siblings this has happened a lot, add in that my mom is not cool with a lot of violence and unnecarry sex, and that I've had roommates for years now... Whether it's not having headphones on when a character gets some, or when a rain of bullets is going on, or when a character is cursing up a storm. Whether it's getting caught with naked ladies on the screen or ... well... yeah. Whether it's ultraviolence in the form of disemboweling or snapping necks or blowing out the back of someone's head. I have to remember the matra when the exact wrong person walks in: "They should have knocked."

That's right - it's never my fault... it's rude not to knock.

Hah, that's pretty great.

When I was young, I played South Park 64, and my parents were irate over the content in it. Looking at it from their perspective, it had to be at least a little funny. They gave me a few bucks to go rent a game and what do I bring home? Perhaps the raunchiest game there at the time. The good ol' days, when the ESRB rating didn't mean jack concerning who can buy or rent games. On second thought, I'm glad that's been changed.

I don't think that that is really an awkward moment. If you know anything about GTA then you know that things like that happen fairly regularly. How is it any more awkward than a sex scene in a movie? Hell, that type of awkward act is the reason why we all exist and are looking at these screens right now.

I had no idea what Saints row was about at first. I played the second one for the first time awhile back and was like whoa...this is naughty haha

That's great! Those awkward moment for non gamers are totally normal to actual gamers! Even kid gamers know that's what happens! I do find it humorous to watch non gamers first reactions, but the whole is it's just a game and even if your kids are the ones playing with stuff you wouldn't expect to happen you just need to talk with them about it and remind them as well it's just a game.

Games with grunts and moans that pop up whenever the character gets hit can cause this. When I was a bit younger my mother thought I was watching porn. Turns out it was just my character getting his butt kicked.

Hahahah thats hilarious. I feel like I've had something similar happen when I was a teenager and my mom walked in while my character was getting it on in Fable.

That's hilarious. I've not had any awkward moments like that as far as I can remember. Most embarrassing I've probably had is playing a very curvy, big-busted female at the age of 13. I'm female, but explaining "Mom, that's as small as they get... no there is no better armor" is always fun...

Fable just did that stuff on purpose. It's like they did a survey and put the most awkward stuff they could... Then again I've never quite forgiven them for that long, spectacularly awkward conversation I had with a group of kid cousins. And later on their parents - except it was less a conversation and more a shouting match. And then my mom... and stuff. It was just really sucky.

Oh god, that's to funny

That is epic. I've had awkward encounters as well, not only in games but on TV as well. My TV was on pretty loud in my room and there was this fighting moment. With all fights, there's going to be grunts and moaning. My mother thought I was watching gay porn or something. After that moment, I bought myself a pair of headsets so only I could hear.
