Xbox One Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark Details Revealed

Activision has released the first details about the upcoming Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark, following on from last week's trailer reveal.

Due out later this year on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, 3DS and PC, Rise of the Dark Spark will apparently serve as a follow-up to both the upcoming Transformers movie, and previous titles War For Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron. Gameplay is said to be similar to that on offer in both the previous Cybertron titles, with promises about fast-paced running and gunning, along with vehicle action, large open battlefields and over 40 playable characters.

Multiplayer will include the return of Escalation mode, which sees waves of enemies attack up to four players as you try to work together to survive. Similarly, the game's levelling system will be shared across the single and multiplayer portions of the game, so experience earned in one can be used in the other to unlock new characters, abilities and weapons.

I may be in the minority, but I actually enjoyed the previous two Transformers games. Granted they were from Gamefly as I wouldn't actually pay $60 for either one of them, but they were a lot of fun to play. I'm sure this next game will be more of the same which likely points to another rental, but you never know. In a limited library, mediocre games seem great. What do you guys think of the trailer? I've been a fan of transformers for ages (well not the games though), well I've seen this video 2 days ago and yeah since you confirmed that this is really for Xbox One, I might as well look into the possibility of getting this game. Why? Because I love transformers, and I did see some dinobots on the video.
 
Whoa, I never knew they released something like this, Got to thank Kn1ghtmare for sharing this info. I've always love transformers from the cartoons, comics and the movies. Recently I played some of the games which were available on my old pc, it was quite okay, not generally that exciting but I hope this new game settles it.

The past transformers games were not that good, I guess they want to redeem themselves so they made this. Looks nice.

Well I've got to disagree with this. I did like the previous games and I will like this one even more now that they have new characters on it. Go Dinobots.
 
Mixing the universe of the Cybertron and Michael Bay universes? Interesting. Crossovers are getting more and more clever these days.
 
Hmmmm... give me a demo for this. It looks interesting but like what the super-mod said, $60 for games like those... I don't know. But we'll see.

I'll take it if they can finish one for just $40. Haha.
 
Seems interesting, I thought that both War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron were excellent games with fun multiplayer. Though I heard the Movie tie ins weren't as great so I skipped those. Funny enough this is a mixture of those two so I'm not sure what to think about this game :/. Just hope it's made by High Moon.

That's the thing. The movie tie-ins will be mixed here so hey, we might see Shia LeBouf :-D Or Mark Wahlberg! (that's a joke. I hope it is)

XD hahahahaha.... uhhhh, I hope it is a joke. 'Cuz yeah, if this game does indeed mixes the game-centric universe and the movie universe... the Good Vibrations will be coming!

With Shia gone it's gonna be a whole new Transformers. Well Mark Wahlberg is a good actor.

I hope they can make Lone Survivor a game, well that still depends on the survivor himself if he can allow it.

Yeah, it's a true story so this will never be a game. A game is something that can have alternate endings.
