I've played a lot of different games for the 360, but with the exception of demos I tend not to "try" many games unless they've gotten good reviews or were recommended to me. I remember thinking that the Katamari games were really weird, and I still kind of do. Nowadays I'm more open-minded about games in general, so I don't find anything to be particularly weird. But there are just so many games that I haven't played that I was wondering: what are some of the weirdest Xbox 360 games out there?

Probably Saint's Row. I really like it though, because it kind of peels away all the context for the gratuitous violence that you sometimes want in a game and just gives you the option to play with violence for the sake of violence. It's like a sandbox GTA on steroids, and I think the concept and execution are really original and satisfying. It is a game that is focused on fun, pure and simple, and that is what video games should be about.

This is kind of an odd question, I've played many weird games but not too many weird Xbox 360 games. I guess BioShock 1 is pretty weird and creepy. It's fun but can definitely have a very creepy vibe.

In terms of like, being different from other games on the 360, I would say Viva Piñata was pretty weird. It's more along the lines of managing a garden and doing different things that get new animals to visit. This might be similar to Animal Crossing or something like that on Nintendo (don't know, I've never played them) but for the 360 I thought it was something very different.

On XBLA, Braid was kind of weird too, in the sense that I hadn't really played a game like it before. It's a pretty well known game though.

The weirdest game. I think it is tied between Viva Piñata and Naughty Bear.

Haha, one of my first games for the Xbox 360 was Viva Pinata because my mom gave it to me as a gift. I was sitting around one day pretty bored and popped it in, what a weird game. Though it was pretty cool. I eventually stopped playing when things got a little too complex, but the whole game was just bizarre.

Star Ocean: The Last Hope. It was more annoying than anything else though. I just felt irritated playing this game and only played it for about 10 minutes at a friends house. He picked it up cheap though so wasn't complaining much. The characters on the game are just annoying, but I never played it enough to criticise it anymore!

I've heard a lot of mixed things about Star Ocean: The Last Hope. I played the last game for the PS2, but I never finished it (despite enjoying it quite a bit). I think my friend played it and told me that the characters were obnoxious, but that's usually not a deal breaker for me. I may have to play the game in short bursts so I don't lose my mind, but I think if it's a good game that it will be tolerable in the long run.

Good weird games are definitely a good thing. Bioshock is the first series that comes to mind, but it isn't all that weird. There are a lot of games that have grossed me out that ended up being really good, so I'm certainly not saying weird games are a bad thing.

weirdest game was not really a game... it was some odd thing mars rover on kinect... it wasnt on my console tho it was at a friends.

Well, LSD: Dream Simulator for the PS1. You can guess how weird and ****ed up it is from the title, I think. Creepy as hell, too...

If we're talking 360 only, though, I would say Deadly Premonition. The plot is WEIRD, the characters are WEIRD, the graphics are WEIRD (at times they look really nice, at times they look worse than PS2), the music is WEIRD... everything about it is WEIRD. Which is why I love it so damn much, which is why it has received such a cult following. One of the best 360 games.

I think weird can be a really good thing if it's done right. Bioshock could have easily failed if it weren't got the excellent atmosphere that they created. Games like Katamari are just silly, though; I don't know if they're necessarily weird just because they're out there. But I'm a fan of weird games in the end as long as they're fun to play.

Yeah, I would agree on Viva Pinata. I had no idea what it was supposed to be or be about, and it was years before I actually tried it. I didn't think the farm sim would actually hook and entertain me as much as it did, so it was a strange but pleasant surprise. It was enough to actually get me to buy and enjoy its sequel. Farming Pinatas, who knew?

I think I have Viva Pinata for Games for Windows, which I don't really even use. I know there are a few titles in the franchise, so it may not be the same one. The concept is a little weird, but it sort of reminds me of some of the Pokemon games with its presentation. What I played before was really entertaining, but if I recall correctly the game didn't run so smoothly on my computer.
