Xbox One Xbox One S mic issues

I have 2 controllers which don't work with any headset. Initially worked for a few weeks each but then stopped. I went and bought a wireless headset to get out of the controller and jack issues however its the same - headset worked for a while but now the mic is very intermittent. Works for a few hours but stops thereafter. Anyone else experienced this and more importantly have a solution ?
