Xbox One Xbox One S

I’m planning to buy an Xbox one S. I had an xbox 360 for two years and i sold it few months ago. My elder brother who lives in uk gave it to me and it was used and not brand new. Now i’m buying an xbox one s brand and is there anything i need to check before buying? How do i check if it’s original or not? Can someone please guide me? Thanks in advance.
